A Good Value in Rhinelander A clean comfortable room that accepted our pups. We requested an accessible room upon arrival and altho the hotel was fully booked, the host switched us to accommodate our request. He also gave us a bit of a discount. A nice breakfast was included. The weather was record breaking heat, and the AC was flawless. Comfy beds and linens.

Disappointing They have begun a much-needed renovation to this hotel. We stayed there just 3 weeks prior and had a lovely, clean room that didn’t feel as outdated as it probably was. This visit was a much different experience. We had to make an urgent visit to Rhinelander for a family member, flew most of the day and had to drive 2.5 hours from Green Bay. Exhausted, we arrived and went to our pre-assigned room. When we got to the room, it looked okay but when we tried to lock the door, it wouldn’t lock. We tried for five minutes and realized the lock deadbolt didn’t line up with the door. When we finally got it to lock, it took us another several minutes to get the door to open – very scary if you had to get out in an emergency. Back to the front desk and explained we couldn’t stay in a room where we either couldn’t lock the deadbolt or, couldn’t open the door easily. The clerk told us she had no other rooms with a king bed and offered an “accessible room.” When I inquired about rooms on the second floor, she stated, “Oh, yes. I have one there, but you’ll have to take your luggage up the stairs.” We were fine with that so headed upstairs with all our bags. When we arrived at the room, I heard voices, and it sounded like it was coming out of the room we were just assigned. I put my ear to the door and yes, there was a couple in the room already. Thankfully they were talking (It was 10PM by that time) and not sleeping or we would have scared them and us to death. Back downstairs. The only room she could offer was an accessible room with two queen beds. I said we just needed somewhere to sleep; we were ready to collapse. The room was in terrible condition, the microwave didn’t work, the roll-in shower had a shower curtain about 3-4 inches from the bottom of the floor and each time you took a shower, you would flood the bathroom. We had to put down several towels to catch the water. We will be coming back in December and have decided to go to a different hotel which is a shame. We do like the location and have good experiences in the past but this one was definitely sub-standard.

ugh We have stayed at Quality Inn before in various locations and also this one BUT !!!! - when you pull into a town late in the night you take what you can find. The room was musty and damp smelling from the get go, the bed was ok and I always bring my own pillow. But in the morning things look like seriously - the a/c vent is filthy, the window tracks haven't been cleaned in years, the row of dust along the walls, broken towel bars and the mold in the shower. SERIOUSLY - where's the health inspector. The lady doing the breakfast area was pleasant and was the only person of staff that I saw. The food was good considering. The outside parking lot was full of sand from last winter and the landscaping was like 100 yrs old. There's a sign they are doing renovations but didn't see any of that.

Hope this hotel gets a major reno. I gave this hotel an poor instead of terrible, only because our room was very nice. Recently redone with new mattresses that were very comfortable. All public areas outside the front of hotel were so filthy. The pool had a ladder and not steps so very difficult for old people to get out. The hot tub was permanently shut down with no water which we were not informed about. Pool area filthy with tiles missing around the pool. Also the water in the pool was cold. We would not have stayed here had we known the condition of the pool area as this is important to us. We had to clean the top of the washer before using. They were doing renovations so hopefully the pool and hot tub are in the plans. Cleaning staff did not knock but opened the door while we were still in the room.

Reflects poorly on Quality Inn. Buyer beware! Stayed at the Rhinelander Quality Inn for four nights and five days. Filthy entrance into the hotel and never touched by staff during our stay. Phone in the room did not work. Room smelled like a damp basement. The hot tub is permanently closed. The ice machine was out of order. Bugs in the bathroom. Had to use a shoulder to open the room door. There is no elevator. I could say more but they say a picture is worth a thousand words so look at the pictures. Paid $150.00 a night. The last nights we will ever stay at a Quality Inn. The owner/manager of this hotel has no standards. I can only imagine what a dump his own home is like. The only good thing I can say is that they serve excellent coffee.
