Best Western Plus Inn at Valley View

A Sweet Property with Great Staff This was our first hotel experience since before the pandemic shutdown, and it was a good one despite my still being creeped out about the idea of a hotel stay. I travel with my disabled adolescent daughter and our emotional support Golden. We were traveling with a friend in a separate room this time. We were able to get two rooms side-by-side, on the first floor, near an exit door, with parking right there. It was perfect. The rooms have mini-fridge and microwave, which are essential for us. The indoor pool was a perfect size for us, and the water was the perfect temperature. The staff, from front desk to housekeeping to maintenance, were all warm, friendly, kind, and helpful. I felt comfortable with the cleaning practices and the commitment of the staff to safety. The only thing that left something to be desired was the breakfast - "odd" scrambled eggs and styrofoam containers. I would vote to lose the eggs and styrofoam and replace with a waffle maker and eco-friendly to-go containers. We were on a short get away from a couple of hours away - the hotel was close enough to everything and easy to get to/leave from for our day trips. Overall this was a great value option

Good Hotel Clean room, Clean Hotel. Price could be better. .Breakfast in the morning could be better. Only serving hot eggs (really salty) and sausage. Overall the place is very good. Keep valuable secured maid walked into room disregarding sign on door stating do not disturb. Not sure what her intentions were.

Horrible stay overall This was probably the worst hotel experience I have ever had. I was driving overnight from TN to PA and wanted to stop to rest. I called earlier in the evening to see if they had availability and if I would be able to still check in around 3am. They confirmed that would be fine, and that I wouldn't need a reservation. I arrive at the hotel around 3:15am on June 17th, and am greeted by a front desk staff that clearly had just been sleeping in the back and were frustrated with me because I was interrupting their nap. I asked for a room and mentioned the phone call I had made earlier. The staff rolled her eyes at me and mumbled "If we even have anything available." After an overall unpleasant interaction with them, I went to my room. I needed a pet-friendly one since I had my dogs with me. I get to the room and the door is already open. I was sure to go around and check the entire room, as the door being open in the middle of the night is clearly unsettling and I wanted to make sure there was no one in there. The quality of the room was awful, people clearly brought their pets here and just locked them in the bathroom. As soon as I entered, the scent of cat pee was so strong I had to keep my mask on all night. I soon discovered that there was actually several piles of fresh cat pee in the room, so I made sure to keep my shoes on when walking around. I had such a horrible interaction with the front desk staff that I didn't even want to go ask for a different room (and I assumed they wouldn't have another one anyway). I figured I'd just get through the night and leave first thing in the morning. I took my dogs outside to use the bathroom before bed, but when I came back to the room, my key didn't work. Cue another painful interaction with the front desk staff, who obviously had gone back to sleep and acted like I was the biggest pain. I slept there for maybe 4 hours and left as soon as I woke up in the morning. I couldn't get out of there fast enough.

Pleasant Stay I have read some negative reviews about this inn. I would like to say I feel that this Best Western Plus is comparable to most of the many other ones I’ve stayed at. For the price guests are paying and for what we get, I wish they would not complain. The people working there, including the manager, were very hospitable. I know very well how hard these people must work while the management has difficulty getting employees to help them. I applaud the staff for making it work for all of us guests. Without them, there would be no available rooms to stay in. There would not have been the wonderful breakfast they served us. I liked the indoor pool. It was nice and warm. Many hotel pools are cold. What would have made it great would have been a hot tub, but we were very happy with the pool. The inn seemed to be fairly well maintained. The room was pleasant and comfortable. The inn is in a great location. I would not hesitate to stay at this inn again.

Great STAY This was a very reasonably priced hotel. The staff was excellent and answered all questions and were overall very helpful. The room was very spacious and clean. The hotel is in the perfect location of shopping and restaurants. If I am ever in the Roanoke VA area again this will be my number one choice of where to stay.
