Consider your options and ensure your expectations are met. This was our second Portrait Hotel experience within the Lungarno Group, in Italy in three weeks. We had incredibly high expectations of the Lungarno Group of hotels given their linkage to the Ferragamo brand. My husband and I were disappointed with our stay at the Portrait Firenze and had hoped that Portrait Roma would rectify this experience; alas this was not to be. If you’re looking for a warm welcome or some assistance as you come and go throughout your stay, you will find this to be all but non existent. What you may find, as we did, were some wilted flowers and a mess of coat hangers and boxes at the entrance to the loft. There is no reception at this hotel on the ground floor, you need to make your way to the 1st floor to find the team sitting in their air conditioned office. This appears to be a very “hands off” hotel. We were fortunate to have the opportunity to feel the warmth, dedicated service and wonderful experiences from hotels such as Casa Angelina and Castello de Casole whilst we have been in Italy. Both hotels set the benchmark for our expectations of 5 star service in Italy. If you do choose to stay here, be warned that there is no restaurant. They do offer a the limited menu, although treat this with caution. We worked out the food is being sourced from the Hostaria De Mercato down the street and brought in and repackaged if you ordered at the terrace or through room service. We quickly worked out that it was easier to walk down the street to the Hosteria, where the personal service was fantastic and we cut out the middle man. The mini bar is also empty, apparently “due to COVID”. All other hotels outside of the Lungarno Group we experienced were back into the swing of pre COVID service including the mini bar. Servicing of the room was missed completely on one day and in part on two other days. Definitely sub par. It is worth noting that there are select individuals in the team, including Christiano who do go above and beyond in the provision of their level of service, and without these special select people further reduction in the hotel would occur. We wish to thank Christiano for his efforts and the members of the restaurant at the Portrait Firenze for their efforts. I am not sure how a 5 star rating was awarded and in my opinion, the Portrait Roma and also the property in Firenze have been granted such a high star rating due to the central property locations and the linkage to Ferragamo with the 10% off voucher at the boutiques. Stick to fashion rather than hotels.

5 stars in every sense! Wonderful hotel and an even better hotel staff. Simply perfect customer service. Perfect location, cleanliness, concierge services, etc. 5 stars in every sense of the way. Would visit again without any hesitation. Perfect for couples or family. Great location in Rome.

Finest Hotel in Rome with Utmost Privacy Check-in process: Seamless, and I was provided a comprehensive tour of the room, ensuring I had everything I needed. Lifestyle Team: Maddalena went above and beyond. I mentioned that I would like to watch sunset and try suppli and non-touristy pizza. She suggested Villa Borghese and sent me her personal recommendations , delivering a truly exceptional and tailored service. The Rooftop: Undoubtedly the highlight of my stay, offering breathtaking views. Breakfast: Buffet-style with wide-range selection which includes a gluten-free section. Location: Couldn't have been more ideal, with a short 4-minute walk to Spagna station and a mere 15 minutes to Roma Termini. Shout out to Maddalena, Megan, Alexis, Cristiano and Dainald for their outstanding hospitality!

Best of the best!!!!! We've been to Rome many times and stayed at many different luxury hotels. Portrait Rome is the best of the best! Never seen an hotel that gives attention to the smallest detail. Impeccable! Great location, great stuff, amazing rooms, a beautiful terrace from where you enjoy the view of beautiful Rome, excellent breakfast. Very comfortable beds and selection of pillows, excellent isolation, so you sleep like a baby! There is nothing negative I'd have to mention. This hotel is the reason we want to go back to Rome soon!
