Dive into the magnificent nature and underwater world of Dominica from one of the best hotels on the island Have you ever snorkeled in pleasantly warm water, immersed in sparkling water that tingles comfortably on your skin? This is Champagne, one of Fort Young's diving destinations. The pearls come from the seabed due to the volcanic structure of the small Caribbean island of Dominica. In the evening we enjoyed dinner in Fort Young's restaurant with a view over the sea, friendly staff and delicious local food. Waking up in a spacious, newly renovated room with an astonishing view over the ocean made our day. We began with a fitness session in the air-conditioned fitness center (all LifeFitness equipment) and over a hearty Creole and international breakfast, we immediately ate all the calories we had previously sweated off. After a divine session, we spent the afternoon at the pool with a stunning view of the sea. We enjoyed the beautiful bar before our dinner and, depending on the weather, we decided to go inside or outside. We also picked up some great souvenirs in the small but excellent retail store. The art gallery right next to the store was impressive. Another good thing about Fort Young is its location: you can walk to the center of the capital Rousseau in just 3 minutes. In just 15 minutes by car you can marvel at the beautiful Trafalgar Waterfalls or bathe in the natural hot springs of Ti Kwen - an incredibly relaxing experience. Fort Young is an ideal option for a few relaxing days of diving and nature in Dominica.

Magical Island experience. ort Young is TOPS! If you are a diver, hiker or are looking for a fantastic island getaway I cannot recommend Fort Young and Dominica highly enough! We have traveled and dove on many Carribean islands, plus central and south America and Mexico. Dominica is the cleanest (NO LITTER) friendly and safest feeling island we have ever been on. The diving was great TONS of critters, and the shop is very safe and professional. Fort Young is clean and modern with lots of extras, gym, pool etc. The rooms are very well-done HUGE bathrooms and clean! The excursions were wonderful, waterfalls, gorges to tube in and river tours. All in all a great week.

Great Dive Vacation in Dominica at Fort Young Hotel and Dive Resort This was my third visit to Ft Young Hotel and I have always had a great time. The hotel sits right on the ocean with beautiful views of the sea and mountains. The staff is outstanding-friendly and always helpful. I went with my dive group and used the hotel dive center. Fran, who manages the dive operation and the dive crew on the boat were very helpful and knowledgeable and the diving was wonderful. Lush sea life and the dive masters were excellent at spotting unique creatures, many of them tiny and well camouflaged. We saw a lot of turtles and the whale watching trip was outstanding. The crew really knows how to find the whales and are experts on their behavior so they were able to alert when the whales were about to flip their tails in the air as they made a deep dive. Also the new boats the dive shop just aquired were very nice. I have pretty bad arthritis and the dive crew really helped with getting my equipment on and off and getting me in the water where I was fine. We had all of our meals at the Palisades Restaurant on site that has indoor and outdoor covered dining. Nice breeze and ocean views. Some meals featured buffets with a large variety of choices and other times had a good a la carte menu. We stayed in the older part of the hotel with ocean front rooms which were kept immaculately clean. There is also a new very sleek part of the hotel with very nice lounges and a nice gym. The only downside was that there are a lot of stairs to traverse and not all are served by elevators so if someone has serious difficulty walking they might want to look into staying in the newer more modern part of the hotel and check out eating options in that part of the hotel. I will definitely look forward to more trips to the hotel and dive center.
