Our stay at Homewood Suites Stayed here for 3 nights. We had 2 rooms booked so my mother could have her own space. Spoke with Michael who made sure the rooms were very close to each other. He and Howie were both very helpful and friendly and even got us in for an early check-in. The Wednesday night social was very nice. They had potato soup, salad, cheese and crackers. Breakfast was included and included eggs, bacon/sausage, waffles, cereal, toast/bagels, fruit, oatmeal, juice/coffee. Kept full and clean. We had 2 different maids since we were across the hall from each other - room 321 had a very nice young girl who did not speak English so I couldn't thank her properly but did leave a tip for her. She had extra special touches throughout the room. She made swans out of the wash cloths, a pretty bow on the paper towels and flowers on the toilet paper and kleenex. She also came in and emptied our trash and provided new towels the 2nd night we were there. My mother's room across the hall, had a different maid and she did not clean her room during our stay nor did she provide the extra little touches. The rooms were adequate for our stay providing a kitchen with a full refrigerator, stove, microwave. Living room was nice and had a small table for 2, plenty of closet space and hangers. The bed and pillows were comfortable. We were a little upset when we realized that one of the rooms was a "pet friendly" room when we went to put out the Do Not Disturb sign, we found a Pet Inside sign as well. I feel that only people traveling with pets should stay in this room and it should not be booked for someone without a pet but it was late at night when we noticed and was not about to change rooms then. Also this explained the strong cleaning smell we noticed when entering this room 320. Was nice that there were no fees to park. Convenient to getting on Highway to head to town. Small outdoor pool. The outdoor chairs are very worn and the cushions should be replaced. Only complaints I had were the bathtub filled up with water while you were showering and the tub was not the cleanest.

Avoid this HOTEL as the service is extremely basic Extremely basic HOTEL. Rooms are very large but badly designed, particularly the bathrooms. Also very dark with small windows facing a brick wall. Breakfast was barely adequate no eggs available when we came back to our room it wasn't made up and they told us that they don't make up the room every day.

Very unsafe, damage and theft from vehicles We booked a suite for 4 adults from March 21-24, 2024, as we had plans to do something different each day while in San Antonio. When we arrived, we noticed that there were no security cameras on the property and there was what appeared to be a homeless person walking through the parking lot. We asked the front desk about security, and we were told that they have security that roams the property at night which made us feel better. Our 3rd floor room faced the roof of the pool house in the courtyard which sucked big time. The room itself was cute and as described on their website. The pull-out sofa was very uncomfortable and only came with a mattress cover, top sheet, fleece blanket and one pillow, our bathroom only had 2 bath towels, but we had no issues getting extra towels, pillows and a bottom sheet. The website says there is a manager's special but there was no manager's special, we were advised that it is only on Wednesdays. Two of our group smoke so we spent time out in the parking lot with them. Night one there was a person with a flashlight walking the length of the parking lot at the closed business beside our hotel, they were not security, but they kept walking, so we didn't think anything of it. On the morning of the 23rd two people from our room went out around 6:30am just as 4 police cars were pulling into the lot. We found out that around 4:30am a guest heard noises from the parking lot and saw 3 people running in and around cars so they hit the horn on their car remote and the 3 people/kids ran to the next lot (were the person the previous night with the flashlight was) and they jumped into a silver SUV and took off. Our vehicle along with at least 7 other vehicles had windows smashed out and things rifled through and stolen. One vehicle had 2 windows smashed out and some of their belongings were thrown on the ground. We had no bags or anything in our vehicle, they went through the glove box, center consol, and even lifted the rear seats and stole the battery booster that was not visible. There was more glass in the lot but no vehicles, so we assume some of the people with damaged vehicles had already left. One police officer told us that this is a very bad end of town, as there are apartments and a lot of homeless people in the area. We talked to the front desk, and they said that there are signs everywhere saying that they are not responsible for anything stolen or damaged in the lot and that we are in "inner city, and these things happen" no empathy like it is an everyday occurrence. The break-ins were the talk of the lobby and none of us talking saw any of these "not responsible blah blah blah" signs. At some point the security guard showed up outside and we asked him where he was when all of this happened. The security guard told us that he is relieving the other guard, and they only patrol every hour. We went back to the front desk asking about the security and they told us that security checks the parking lot every 2 minutes, total lie, and proceeded to tell us about other hotels in the area that had recent break-ins. Like we care! Front desk and the manager did offer us people that would clean the glass up in and around our vehicle. This ruined the rest of our holiday and the remainder of our plans so we checked out today (a night early) and never did what we wanted to do as we are missing a window in our vehicle so we can't park it and feel secure anywhere but home. Two other couples that were in the lobby and aware of the incident also checked out early and some long stay people we talked to said they are going to try to find another location. One of the staff members told us that a security guard is in critical condition from a shooting in the area earlier this year. I don't have room pictures but they are on the website. I did take pictures of the damaged vehicles and different areas of the hotel until I found the signs that says they are not responsible for damage. The signs face sideways not head on and that is why they are not visible, it would be like turning a no parking/handicap sign a 1/4 of a turn plus there were construction crews, a pod and buses in the lot to watch for. One guy that had a broken window was parked right by the post with the sign and he said "I don't see a sign". I would never ever stay here or in this area again nor would I recommend this hotel to anyone.

Thieves This hotel stole from me. They told me on the phone they couldn’t extend my stay and that housekeeping would be taking my things out of the room. So I had someone go and pick up my stuff from the room at 11:45am (checkout is at 12:00pm) and I followed it up with checking out on the app. I have folio proof that I checked out prior to checkout time. The hotel never informed me that they were extending my stay. No confirmation email, no phone call, no text, no voicemail. I ended up getting another hotel because of this. I received a receipt via email for the additional night and I called the hotel for an explanation. It was during this call I found out about the change and I requested a refund due to their inability to communicate and extending my stay without my consent. They refused and stated that my stuff was in the room past checkout time, which is a blatant lie. I would not recommend this location for their immoral, predatory business practices. Unless I receive a refund for the additional night, I will be writing to corporate and disputing it everywhere possible.

Nice Facility, Musty Room Stayed three nights during a getaway. Having the extra space was very nice for a longer stay. Facility was nice, staff was helpful. Room decor and furnishings were dated, but clean. Couches and chairs in the living area were very uncomfortable. Room had a distinct musty smell. We bought air freshener and sprayed as we left for the day, and that seemed to really help. Breakfast was good, no issues with quality- typical Hilton breakfast.
