Disappointed We paid for a premier king view with bay views, was offered a upgrade, which we paid for and was disappointed, thought it would have better views but we actually got no bay view, only 1 lift worked had to use service lift for entire stay, lots of waiting, not good, paint was peeling in places, the rooms need more soundproofing very noisy on the street side, bed was noisy as soon as you moved in it, location was good but was disappointed and felt we did not get what we paid for and defiantly was not a upgrade, should have asked for a refund on the upgrade when we were there.

Anniversary trip Stayed for 3 nights . Room was ok. Courtyard view. Window didn’t shut properly and was banging all night, was also noisy outside one night and sounded like there was a party in the courtyard at 2am. Bed ok. Creaked when moved. Housekeeping amazing. Lifts were a nightmare. Had to wait ages for them. Was a sign to say you could use the service lifts if a long wait, that was just as long and got stuck on level 1!! So had to re press it and took us to another level and had to walk down. Not great. Needs sorting ! Location excellent with cable car stops opposite, the cable cars are fun. Hotel is at the top of California street and prob one of the highest streets in SF. Close walk to china town and union square. Some great resturant nearby . Get cable cars back up to hotel! Be aware of the extra fees that are added to your bill. We didn’t realise you have to pay destination tax of $43 every night along with the taxes you already paid when booking . San Fransisco very expensive. Nice hotel but wouldn’t stay here again.

Major elevator issues Hotel down to 1 elevator out of 4. Wait times are 15 minutes plus to go up or down. They are trying to get service elevator fixed. Apparently elevator issues are a long-standing problem. Really out of control. Would not have booked here had i known.
