I'll Be Back! Okay, this is not a 5 Star resort, but for the price in the area, I thought the accommodations were excellent. I spoke by telephone with the owner/manager to ask for a room near the office and he politely granted my request. Check in took about two minutes. My room was immaculate. The shower was great, the bed was comfortable and besides a small refrigerator and microwave, there was a 55(?) inch TV. It appears the rooms have all been renovated, but the parking lot is a little rough. I'm confident that will be taken care of soon. Checking out took only a few seconds. I liked the property well enough that I have already made a reservation for my next visit to SLO. Disliked · I have absolutely no complaints. None.

poor The beds are so hard, and the AC system was so loud. The window screens were also filthy. The hallways where dirty and the outside garbage cans were so full, and people were throwing their extra trash on the ground. When I talk to the reservation, they said they had a pool, and he did not inform me that the pool was under construction. This is why we stayed there. Was so disappointed and so was grandson. Front desk couldn't care less. No customer service.

A decent place to stay in expensive SLO One of the few value-oriented spots to stay in SLO. Don't have high expectations and it will be ok. The bed was surprisingly comfortable, and the room has been updated over time. The pool is a construction site now with no activity on a Friday afternoon so who knows when it will be done. The parking lot is falling apart and almost like parking on a dirt lot. Shower in the room was using a shower head that desperately needs to be replaced or cleaned. The pressure was bad, spray was going everywhere through the plugged holes and the hot water was scarce in the morning. The kirkland coffee pods at breakfast were a highlight, otherwise some unappealing microwave sausage biscuits or a pastry type thing are breakfast. The EV charger was nice to see but there's a $10 charge to use it. For a plug-in hybrid that's about twice the price of gas. It would be helpful if the price was based on time or electricity used. The view from the second floor is great with a nice panorama of SLO. It's also really close to Cal Poly and easily walkable to downtown.

Value on Near Cal Poly This is a updated motel that is very close to the university Cal Poly. The room is basic but nice. The bed was comfortable. There is a continental breakfast. And an outdoor pool. The Internet is OK but not great. I had to move a dresser to plug in my tablet for power as it was covering up the power receptacle, when I was at the desk they provided.

Customer service needs major improvement This review is for customer service, not the stay. I didn't even get that far... I booked a two night stay through their direct website five months in advance at a decent rate (Night one at 150 and night two at 399.61 due to Friday night college move-in week). As the check in date got closer, I tried to modify my stay and drop the second night. The only option online was to cancel the whole reservation, so I called the front desk to see if they could help me. Shelby said she could not help me as I booked it online and I have to modify it online. I told her there is no option to modify it online, only cancel. They she said I need to do it online.....you'll have to cancel and rebook it online. I wanted her to rebook my one night at my original rate while on the phone before I cancelled my online reservation. She said she couldn’t because there were no rooms available. I ask if a manager could override the online booking to modify the reservation and she said the manager (Michael) “probably cannot do it”. Of course when I asked for the manager to at least try, she said the manager wasn’t in until the next day. Also check out the more recent Y E L P reviews, and see why others say their customer service is so bad. If you need something, they aren’t helpful. I don't know if she didn't want to give me the better rate because there are rooms still available online, but now for 310.61 for the first night! The room may be basic for just sleeping, but if you need something, good luck. I ended up cancelling this online reservation and a future reservation. They don’t deserve my money with customer service as bad as this and an archaic online reservation system and I haven’t even stayed there yet! Read the other reviews for yourself and look at the other one star reviews and hope you don’t run into any issues while you are there, they probably will ignore you.
