Great place to stay that is close to the park.... Best place to stay in Sandusky. More bang for your buck. Very clean. Friendly and professional staff. Great complimentary breakfast with plenty of package foods like bear claws and cherry and apple turnovers and muffin bites, 3 types of boxed cereals, hot coffee, 3 types of juices, yogart, oatmeal.. Fabulous amenities, Heated pool, Outdoor hot tub/Jacuzzi, Restaurant that are close bye and Lots of extra touches. Special Thanks to Nathan front desk Staff who provided excellent directions to the property the week before our arrival; his recommendations for dining were excellent and he knew all of the good places for entertainment for all ages to enjoy. Also, our room was extra clean and refresh with clean towels everyday we stayed there. Maintenance man was very nice man who also worked at KOA next door and assisted us in finding the closest beaches to the hotel. Overall a great stay what I didn't understand were all the negative comments on variety of sites but our stay was a 4-star experience, we booked thru AAA and our expectation was above exceptional and learn to ignore negative comments left by others and book this location and give them a try - we did and happy we did!!! The Casey's (08/2020) - Thanks again to the entire staff for a great stay....

I had a 3 night stay at Knights Inn In Sandusky in August 2020, don’t go there! My wife and I made the very terrible mistake of staying at the Knights Inn in Sandusky on Cleveland Rd on August 3, 2020 through August 6, 2020. Check in went fine and our room was clean. But my wife and I noticed the area looked a bit rough. There are 2 sets of train tracks VERY close to the hotel with very frequent trains. Sometimes they blow the horn at the intersection by the hotel, that was the first issue we noticed. The second issue On our first night was after midnight there was very loud talking and laughing very close to our room that went on for several hours, it sounded like they were right outside our door. They finally stopped around 1:30 AM. The old AC unit in the room makes the room extremely cold, then stops running for 45 minutes and room gets hot. AC kicks on again and it back to freezing cold, AC was set at 68 when we went to bed. Promptly at 5:45 AM a bunch of sea gulls started screaming - YES SCREAMING - close to our window, this continued for several hours. About 20-25 trains had gone by that night that I could recall, very loud. At this point, no going back to sleep with the seagulls. We went to Cedar Point very tired, obviously not a good nights sleep, Our second night after midnight there was a very loud argument that went on for almost an hour close to our room. A man and woman were screaming at each other for at least an hour. More trains... More freezing cold temps and room getting too warm again... Then at 5:50 AM more screaming sea gulls. Wife and I are up early again, no more sleeping now. On third night more fighting with the same couple as night before, more screaming back and forth until after 1 AM. At 4 AM some idiot in parking lot started BLASTING music from their car crazy loud for an hour and a half. More screaming sea gulls at 5:45 AM not long after car radio stopped playing. I looked outside thru the curtain, some woman in a car close to our window with the loud music. She was still sitting in the car when More trains (about 20 during the night). Wife and I had HAD it! We noticed the same car and woman was still there when we were leaving the hotel, she had spent the night outside in the car. My wife and I think she was the person fighting the past couple of nights. Summary: PLEASE folks, if you want ANY sleep at all DO NOT - I repeat DO NOT - book a nights stay at this place. The hotel is very dated, wife and I also saw some trashy people milling around the hotel on more than 1 occasion including a woman who was packing her car in the morning with a night gown on and slippers like she just got out of bed. Folks, your vacation is not worth blowing it at a place like this. What you save in $$$ will not be worth it! Your vacation and time with your family would be much better spent at a higher quality hotel.

Bugs, guts, and cold We checked in around 8pm. The front desk person was nice. I got my sleeping littles out of the car and walked up to my room. When we approached the door was about 4 inches open. We slowing opened it thinking someone was in there. Thankfully no one was in there. We turned on the lights and that's when the eww factor set in. Dead bugs we're all over the sink, smashed on the walls (guts and all), the bedding had stains or spots (who actually knows). The only reason we stayed was because the sheets looked clean and we had two sleeping littles. In the morning we went to breakfast. It is located in a screened in building. It was cold outside therefore it was cold in the building. We weren't prepared and the littles were shivering. It was sad times for all. Overall, it's a cheap place to stay as long as you want to clean the dead bugs off the sink (there weren't any flying around despite the door being open), look past the bug guts on the walls, and not use the comforter. Wear jackets when you eat, hunt for the ice machine, and hope no one unscrews the deadbolt as the screws are outside.

THE place to stay when visiting Cedar Point or Sandusky This hotel is the absolute best-deal, best bang-for-the-buck anywhere near Cedar Point. We've stayed here twice and will always come back. We save so much $$ over the next-best option, it "pays" for dinner and drinks at The Thirsty Pony after a day in the park!
