Road trip, stop #11 Road trip, stop #11 On a long road trip I chose this hotel to stay at to break up a very long day of driving. To be honest, we were pleasantly surprised in the condition. The outside looks old but the rooms have all been updated in the bedroom area, new AC, etc. The down side was the bathroom was still old and the toilet was leaking and you could see it had been for a long time in this room. Everything was clean but I'm not a fan of the tile plank floors as no matter how much they clean, you can still feel dirt on your bare feet. The breakfast area was very small but clean. There are waffles for a hot item, but don't expect a big breakfast . The coffee was good! The parking area has a large area for oversized rigs or if you are towing something. The value of the room was also very good. Would recommend this hotel at 8/10.

Good for the night. Good, decent place to stay for the night. No complaints. Photos on Trip Advisor are old and do not reflect recent changes. Rooms have been updated. LVP floors, no more old nasty bedspreads. The bed spread now is more along the lines of a decorative sheet. Microwave and fridge in room.

Well Maintained Good Value Roadside Motel We stopped only for an overnight sleep while driving though (we were not staying for a resort experience). The motel is convenient to I-40, but well off the highway so there is no interstate highway road noise. Mostly one story (it appears there are a couple of rooms on a second story at the far end of the building) U-shaped building around a large parking lot. We parked right in front of our room, and the well-marked parking spaces were generously wide so we had plenty of room to unload and reload the car. Building is obviously older. Exterior paint looks fresh. Stucco and brick façade do not show cracks or breaks. Flooring in the room is wood-look vinyl planks (no carpet). Bathroom is at the back of the room (away from the door). Room (including bathroom) is small-ish by the standards of many newly built hotels, but decent (at least for the two of us) with a king bed and a sofa. Furniture shows signs of age at the edges, but bedding is fresh and clean, mattress firm and comfortable. I was not able to get the water at the shower or sink as hot as I would have liked, but it was warm enough. The tub/shower surround was a modern solid surface material with clean caulking at the edges and a well-placed grab bar. The bottom of the tub had a very effective anti-slip coating. Some fine points can be nitpicked (a baseboard was loose at the edge, a lamp shade was cracked), but overall the room presented as clean and maintained. The air conditioner / heater was conspicuous by its loud fan, but that seems to be a universal feature of motels in general and even hotels several rungs up the luxury scale, to my wife’s frequent annoyance. The breakfast buffet is modest with a “make your own waffle” station alongside yogurt, packaged donuts, and two kinds of cereal.

Showing its age, but I would stay again. Comfortable bed, clean room. It's a little optimistic to call it a suite, but it was spacious for a double room. The sofa was so hard that I wouldn't sit on it (maybe a hide-a-bed), and the bathroom was very cold with no functioning heater. Not sure if there wasn't one installed, but the light looked as if it could include a heating element. A sizeable gap under the outside door. We parked right in front of our door, which was a plus for us.

AVOID THIS DUMP This place is a dump. we are driving to Iowa with our 2 dogs and were too tired to drive any further. La Quinta was sold out. This place was next door. The girl in the office was wonderful. She gave me hope that this would be a good stop. Wrong!!! The room was filthy. I was afraid to sleep under the sheets. I starting itching within 5 minutes of arriving. This is clearly a "pet" room and is not well cleaned in between guests. I am attaching photos. The floor was peeling up. Take a look at the stains on the chair. The bathtub was stained. Dust on the light fixtures was thick enough to leave my initials in it. Just gross from top to bottom. The television did not work but the girl from the office came to our room to fix it and said "I do this 4 or 5 times a night. My suggestion is to keep driving. Don't spend your money here. I did notice that the owner and his family reside on the far side of the property and those units seem to have been renovated. If you do stop here for some reason, I would insist on getting one of those units.
