Above and beyond Comfort in Paradise Well this is a hidden gem of Cashiers. Located in Sapphire the staff is just amazing. Great place off Hwy 64 very comfortable and safe. Stephanie made sure we had a great experience. The staff is super friendly and laid back with great information. We felt right at home with the newly renovated rooms that were clean and comfortable. This is not the Ritz however it’s so nice and user friendly. I want to shot out to Stephanie for her assistance to a veteran and his wife, such respect and kindness to us, thank you for a wonderful stay this week.

Hotel Option! This hotel is in the Cashiers-Sapphire Valley Area were there aren't too many hotels to choose from beside a Wyndham Resort and a local hotel that still uses bedspreads. So we selected Hampton Inn because normally you can't go wrong with Hilton, Hyatt or Marriott. However we were wrong this time, even though it says they're renovating. But the fact that the rooms were allowed to get this bad shows poor ownership and property management. Room carpet stained, faded carpet, pillow cases stained, worn sheets, old bath towels, stained carpet in the hallways, lobby was dated, elevator was last inspection on 9/27/21 and sounded like a propeller airplane and breakfast just closed the deal because it looked like gas station food and not Buc-ee's. Buyer beware of this place it's not worth anything over $69, but we paid more. This place feels like a motel, because it doesn't display the appearance of any Hampton Inn, Fairfield Inn or Hyatt Place that I've every stayed at. The staff wasn't very friendly at all, I definitely want return. We will definitely go back to the Tapestry in the Waynesville area for our hotel needs.

I should have heeded other recent reviews Hampton Inns are typically so reliable that I didn’t read recent reviews. I have now and want to say I agree with them. This is without doubt the worst Hampton Inn I’ve ever seen. It is being renovated floor by floor and we were warned. That wasn’t so awful. What was awful was that the part of the hotel that is operating is awful. The front door air lock between automatic doors knocked us over with the foul odor of cigarettes - smelled like a huge ashtray. Our room had no bath soap or shampoo (discovered too late to call for some). The coffee wasn’t hot. The breakfast food was unappealing and missing options-like cold cereal. The place was clean enough but once you got through the ashtray front entrance, it smelled like Covid sanitizer. Sadly there aren’t options in the area, but Hampton Inn should worry this franchise tarnishes all the others.

Worn and Dated They say they are remodeling and it cannot come soon enough. The hotel offers uncomfortable beds, with worn sheets and blankets, a thin bedspread and threadbare towels. We asked for a quiet room and so we were placed at the end of the hall next to the staircase which other guests ran up and down all night while slamming the door. The ac/ heat worked fitfully, going from cold to hot. The tiny TV only played a couple of channels and the internet was crazily slow. Breakfast was barely edible. We have stayed at nice Hampton Inn, but this is the first time we stayed at one that felt like it was in a third world country. The only positive is that when we booked the room it was for a 3 night stay, but when we left after only two nights, they only charged us for the two night.
