WONDERFUL staff; an undesirabe location So, the first thing to say about this hotel is that the staff were universally stellar: friendly, helpful, and service-oriented. If it weren't for how wonderful they were, I'd have had to rate the hotel two stars ("poor"). The first bad sign was an actual bad sign: we could SEE the hotel from Rte. 1, but the turn off to the hotel's driveway was almost literally unmarked and seemed unlikely. Without GPS we almost certainly would have missed it. The second negative for us was that we were initially assigned Room 440. But it turned out that all even numbered rooms from about #38 and up on any floor face right onto Rte 1, which means the traffic noise was intolerable. We had to choose between putting the A/C fan on high to mask the noise and keeping it on (i.e setting the room temp to frigid to keep the thermostat from turning the fan off) OR... not being able to sleep because of the traffic roar. The free breakfasts are plentiful, but the oatmeal is inconsistent (watery and uncooked one day, fine the next); the scrambled eggs were over-salted. But the rooms were clean and comfortable; they have a fine night light and abundant pillows, Because I had inadvertently reserved the room for the wrong dates using points and only corrected the error earlier the day of our arrival, we had to pay for our first night's room and then go through acrobatics with the desk staff to arrange points reservations for the following two nights. But this was where the staff really began to shine! They really bent over backwards to accommodate us and were totally helpful when we needed to change the room to somewhere on the other -- quieter -- side of the hotel.

Hotel on busy road 25 minutes to Boston Stayed here when we went to the Red Sox game about a 20 minute drive . Hotel Is on a street more of a small highway plenty of restaurants and stores nearby . Took an Uber to Fenway it was about 20 Minutes away. Our room was nice comfortable beds clean the only complaint very small Bathroom the door would hit toilet the bathroom was that small . Breakfast was decent . Had a outdoor pool but wasn’t open and didn’t look very nice . Otherwise good hotel .

JUST AWFUL ZERO stars if I could. Called to book directly with Holiday Inn and was transferred to the director of sales who couldn’t tell me if the price she quoted me included taxes and fees. Booked online with a third party instead because the sales director clearly had no idea what she was doing and became extremely flustered with me asking if that total amount included taxes/fees. When I arrived to check in, the GM, named Will P., was mind-bafflingly discourteous when I wondered if there was parking available that wasn’t in the parking garage. I said “man, I wish I knew there was a parking garage versus a lot”. He cocked his head and replied with “is that a problem?”, in a flippantly rude way. I replied with “sort of but it’s fine. Just wish I knew because there are mobility issues to factor in”. Then he sneared and asked “is your name Josh?” (My husband’s name and I am clearly NOT a “Josh” ) and refused to let me check in since the reservation was under my husband’s name, even though I had the booking confirmation number and my husband was willing to call and confirm. He got agitated when I asked if my husband could call or send a picture of his ID confirming I can check in. He said “I can just cancel your reservation”. I asked “Why?” He said, while dramatically waiving his hand, “so I don’t have to deal with this”. I said I’ll come back with my husband when her arrives (he was driving and I flew by plane) to check in. He then apparently cancelled the reservation **without telling us** and we got an email when we were about to check in. Thankfully, we found accommodations down the street at Springhill Suites by Marriott with professionals who were wonderful. This was BY FAR the worst lodging experience I have ever encountered and I have stayed at MANY places.
