Nice location The hotel had a nice location. Rooms were cleanish. No complaints. It is a older hotel that has been kept in good order, but is now showing its age. Most noticeable in things like the yellowing of the plastic in the phone in the rooms. Hotel is last exit before bridge to Canada.

Meh- not your normal Holiday Inn that's for sure. Thumbs down on all counts at this Holiday Inn and I don't think I have ever reviewed a Holiday Inn a one star. From the moment we arrived- the lady at the front desk was too busy to answer simple question- We just wanted to know two things- she spoke to us as if we were children- We are in our 60's... rude then she had to take a phone call because "a customer is on the phone" excuse me, we are customers here, now.... not on the phone as a "potential" customer. Not to mention no one said a word about construction going on- We would have stayed elsewhere. The rooms smelled of paint and dry wall dust. Very disappointed in the staffs lack of courtesy, and over all stay was not good. It was our 43rd wedding anniversary and this hotel was awful.

The locks and shops and restaurants were worth the trip. Was under construction for remodeling, wasn’t marked well as to were office was located. It was not best Holiday Inn experience.I think they could have given a better rate for the inconveniences. The locks were a much more pleasant experience than the hotel.

Met our needs Comfy beds. Clean. Staff helpful and responsive. TV system is super outdated and complicated to use. Hot tub doesn’t work. River view is a little misleading - you can see the river but it is a mile away and the view is a refinery.

Smaller than usual bath room I totally understand the high room rate in line with the supply and demand in mid summer. Luckily to book a room at last minutes. Being promoted to River view at check in as Elite status. However, St. Marys River is really far away that you need to zoom camera in to be able to see. I believed I won’t be happy if I paid for the river view room. Bed is way higher than normal hotel standard. I doubt how the kids could get up and down without adult’s assistance. My major complaint is the tiny bath room. Accommodating only one person for sure. Breakfast is IHG standard with hot and cold options. Krist gas station right next to hotel but no gas to fill. Hotel staff said this gas station opening days varied and instructed us to fill the gas at the I-75 exit.
