Excellent 10 days at the Magdelena Just back from a super 10 days at the Magdalena. The best asset in the hotel is definitely that staff who are friendly and generally can't do enough to help. Everyone was lovely with a special mention to Diamond, Dayleen, Amoyah and Mekisha. We had mixed weather in November with quite a bit of rain but it never lasted long and the temperature rarely dropped below 30. The standard of food was very good and in this respect the hotel deserves a real thumbs up. Beverages were also very good on all-inclusive - outstanding mojitos! The actual building itself needs some investment but this was happening as we were there with significant power and wifi upgrades taking place. I hope this trend continues as the Magdalena deserves to succeed. This is a great spot to chill and watch the amazing pelicans and frigate birds. We were never bored and we have come away from Tobago with a very favourable impression. What a lovely Caribbean island.

A mixed bag! Certainly this hotel is dated there is no getting away from that. Nothing short of a full refit will solve that. The gym is hit and miss what works on what day but is functional. On the whole the place is clean but could do with a good deep clean to remove limescale from shower doors etc but everything is else is clean. I found the bed very comfy but pillows too big but that is a personal thing. Views are stunning and watching the pelicans dive for fish is wonderful. Some staff are wonderful and couldn’t do enough for you others you felt like an inconvenience to them. Drinks wise for All inclusive I can’t complain. Food well the buffet was ok most times the other 2 restaurants were much better. Not a lot of healthy choices certainly not at breakfast. The coffee however varied daily from sludge to brown coloured water. The place was fairly empty but we were denied a late check out but could use the gym showers to freshen up so not a massive issue. WiFi is patchy but they were installing new tech

The pros far outweigh the cons...live life like the Tobagons Let's first start with the hotel looking a little tired..HOWEVER...this does not dilute in any way the wonderful holiday we had. Bear in mind Tobago is very much what Barbados was 50years ago. It is still in its infancy when it comes to tourism. The food was superb,, and a thank you to Ivor one of the chefs,so cheerful,so helpful. He was not the only one....Horris at reception...a true gentleman. Diamond and Daniel in the buffet room so helpful, polite and always smiling. Adenna,Kerline and Nigel at the Nylon Bar...made us welcome had a cracking time The rooms were clean and beds super comfortable. Tobago is a fantastic place, the people are awesome both inside and outside the hotel.Yes,I would go back without a shadow of a doubt...because it is one of the few remaining unspoilt islands. Thank you to all the staff
