Leaky ceiling First the good-receptionist/check in lady was very nice. The bad, the ceiling leaked water on the bed next to the ac unit. We didn’t notice until we had gotten ready for bed. Upon inspection we found a hole in the ceiling! There was also a leak near the ac unit that saturated that entire side. The manger wasn’t there when we checked out the very next day so I lodged a complaint with the front desk attendant. I called later and spoke with the manager, Salima(?) and she lied and stated she adjusted my bill by $30, I asked to be compensated for the entire stay! 2 weeks later my invoice has not been adjusted & I never received any updates. I will be contacting corporate. I had my elderly mother with me and our stay At this place was horrible. We were in room 307

My "Go-To" Hotel in Selma! I grew up in Selma, during what I consider it's more vibrant and prosperous years. The city appeared to be in a much better situation and many big businesses [such as hotels] were doing well and being well-maintained. Nowadays, this is not the case so much. My heart gets heavy with sadness when I look at this town and see so many of the places I loved to visit either run down or no longer in existence. However, there are a few places still standing, doing this town proud and keeping the area as "alive" and thriving as it can possibly be, given the circumstances. One such place is the Holiday Inn Express. This property sits in a convenient location, off Hwy 80/Highland Avenue. It is very nearby the Vaughan Regional Medical Center. Within a few miles is a variety of fast-food restaurants and shopping centers. Also a short drive away are popular tourist sites, such as the Historic Interpretive Center, Edmond Pettus Bridge, and the National Voting Rights Museum. The rooms and suites are lovely-looking and spacious. The recent renovations are being kept up and cleanliness is an obvious priority here. There's an outdoor pool, an on-site mini mart and more. The staff is extremely courteous, friendly and helpful. Within the 1st hour of our stay, we accidentally lost our keycard in the card reader slot and had to ask for assistance retrieving the card and regaining entry into our room. In the mornings, there is a wonderful complimentary breakfast area with a variety of food options, both hot and cold. On July 10, Brittany did a fantastic job setting up and keeping items stocked. It takes a load off, mentally, when I don't have to worry about a family meal time. It's a financial benefit too. My family has been staying here for over 10 years and plan to continue to patronize this business as one that values their customers and makes necessary investments to keep standing.

clean it up upon arriving i was greeted by a very nice young lady at the front desk i think her name was Geradine she told me all the good places to eat and was extremely helpful but once i got to the room they were dead bugs in the tub the room smelled like old musty water, the ceilings was pilling and the blinds didnt work i called down to the front desk and the young lady brought me some air freshener to spray but that did nothing for the smell upon checking out i told the morning clerk about the condition of the room she offered me points but i told her i was not a ihg member instead of her trying to apologize for the condition of the room she was still tryin to sign me up for a membership very unprofessional and she was the assistant GM

Big Disappointment Everyone was friendly but the hotel is not being kept up, the carpet in the hallway was filthy, the room had a bad smell like it had been cleaned with dirty water. Black stain marks on the walls in the bathroom. The bottom of the tub was nasty and horrible wore slides and put towel down in tub.
