Harbor Winds Hotel

Good value, close to a lot of things, ruined by rude employee We came to Sheboygan to go fishing, and this was recommended by the captain, and was a very convenient location so we stayed here. We were all very pleased with the experience for the most part. Would have given it 5 stars, but the lady working front desk when we first got there was not pleasant and down right rude. We were supposed to be at the harbor to depart for fishing at 3:30, so we stopped right before lunch when we got to town to see if we could possibly check in early as we had just driven 7 hours and wanted to change before we went fishing. The lady very rudely informed us how short staffed and busy they were, and that she wasn’t checking us in until after 3 NO exceptions. In driving around some after we left, 4 of the 5 times we drove by she and another employee were sitting out by the front door smoking looking really busy. Thankfully we stopped again about 2:00 and it was a different lady that helped us and she let us get into our rooms no problem. I wish i would have remembered to get the rude employees name, not normally one to complain, but i would have made an exception this time.

Convenient location yet out of the way, unique place Before departing Wisconsin, I had to stay somewhere for one night. It was raining hard, there was some chaos in the departure plan and I needed a quiet place to decompress. Harbor Winds was it. I was familiar with the hotel but had never been inside. Being a small property, in a great area along the waterfront yet out of the way, it is mostly unknown unless people stumble upon it. The lobby is small, desk service quick, and my room was a nice size, if not a little smaller than commonly known motels. I was on the first floor, parking lot side (sadly no view for me) so it was very convenient. Being off season and raining, there were only a few other guests, so the place was quiet. The breakfast consisted of simple fare, nothing spectacular, but continental breakfast isn’t meant to wow, just get you on your way. I appreciated being able to stay at this property. I would recommend it as a first choice in Sheboygan…it was reasonably priced, it is close to Weather Center Café (for the greatest coffee house beverages and homemade food you'll get in the area), downtown eateries and shopping and the Stephanie Weill Performing Arts Center and to the Lake Michigan lakefront. Well done!

Nice Hotel This is a very nice riverside hotel in downtown Sheboygan. Staffs were very friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and quiet. Breakfast was great with sandwiches, corn dogs, French toasts, etc. On the back of hotel, it's the river walk. We had a nice walk along the river and lots of restaurants along the way. One small thing: There is no elevator. You may want to consider rooms on the first floor if you have heavy luggage.

This place rocks! Great, inexpensive hotel with fantastic staff, nice view of the river and super close walking distance to great restaurants and bars. Booked for a two-night stay with a day trip to Green Bay for Packers game.

Comfy in great location Can't beat the location right on the Sheboygan River and in walking distance to downtown and many restaurants. Also near to water front parks, harbor and walking trail along lake shore. Very good breakfast offerings. Only drawback we found is no elevator to 2nd floor, so had to carry bags up staircase at end of hall. This may be an issue for those with disabilities if there are no 1st floor rooms. We would stay there again!
