Safe, modern hotel walking distance to downtown Old Saint Augustine We went here with our grandkids for one night to see the fireworks on the river in Saint Augustine and chose this hotel as it was an easy walk to the downtown marina over the bridge of lions (about one mile). There are closer hotels to the bridge, but this one seemed safest. The hotel was very nice with a cute pool/hot tub area, a nice weight room with a variety of equipment, and a hot/cold free breakfast that was very good. Our room was modern, very clean, and had super comfy mattresses and pillows. If you plan on going to the beach and downtown in Old Saint Augustine, this is a perfect location as you can walk downtown, and the beach is less than 2 miles away (Anastasia State Park). It is safe, quiet, clean, and very nice--they even have free coffee all day in the lobby! TaShay checked us in and out at the front desk and she was very nice and helpful. We had an excellent experience and highly recommend staying here!

Small and close to beaches and history, but far from food. The Holiday Inn Express Historic District in St Augustine was selected using the IHG Rewards app and was the cheapest listed in the St Augustine area. The location is nice being just minutes from the Historic Downtown area and Castillo San Marcos one direction with the Atlantic Ocean beaches at Anastasio State Park and St Augustine Beach minutes in the other direction. The one downside with the location we experienced was a lack of restaurants other than local "hole in the wall" joints or jam packed tourist themed restaurants. To find mainstream casual or fast food dining, be ready for drive across town to Ponce De Leon Drive. The room itself was smaller than most of the Holiday Inn Express facilities I've seen. We did note some dusty areas in the room such as the desk, TV, clocks, etc, however the bathroom, bed, and high use areas like the bedside tables were spotless. The bathroom and shower appeared to be newly remodeled with modern fixtures. Signs of recent construction did exist such as blue painters tape stuck to the floor under the door and a few gaps in the wood grained laminate flooring between the room and hallway. The bed was clean with a mattress that was very firm, but not too hard to be uncomfortable. Parking is limited with a small parking lot and very narrow entrance/exit onto the A1A. There is a fitness area with modern treadmills on the second floor, and a small pool area is located to the rear of the building. Like all Holiday Inn Express hotels, there is a free hot breakfast buffet until 0930 each morning. Overall, the overall value is pretty good. Be ready for a small room with few options for easy dining and be prepared to return to a full parking lot if you go out for the evening. Using the IHG app makes registration simple and only takes a few minutes. This is a mid tier hotel I'd recommend.

Simply awful experience Awful. Old building. No carpet no dressing area. Dirty shower. Small toilet room difficult sliding door to open. Even breakfast food. Was substandard for Holiday Inn Express brand. We stay exclusively in these. I am a silver member and never had such a. Miserable experience. Desk reception was unfriendly to start. Check out person very pleasant. Found an old rusty razor in shower. Walls had some kind of filth on them. How do I know I’m not getting this motel “6” type of accommodation next time?

Nice hotel but WAY overpriced! We stayed here for two nights and made reservations through Holiday Inn. The price per night was close to $300, which was outrageous. But we wanted a Holiday Inn. There were very nice aspects to this hotel. But also some improvement, needed. On the plus side, our room was nice and clean although small. The bathroom was very roomy and we liked the Dove personal care products offered. The WIFI was a bit slow. But the beds were comfortable, so all good there. We arrived extra early (1 PM) and the guy at the desk, Andrew, couldn't have been more helpful! He checked on our room and found that indeed, we were able to check-in early. And he was very patient with us, explaining the many things to do and see around St. Augustine. He recommended Casa Reina for dinner, which we thoroughly enjoyed. He was definitely one of the highlights of our stay. We also talked to the house-keeping crew a number of times and they were always very pleasant. We looked into having breakfast the next morning and found the offerings weren't that appealing and the breakfast room very small. So we drove to the McDonald's down the street. It was nice that they offered coffee and hot water 24/7. There looked to be a nice pool, but the weather wasn't nice enough to swim. Our biggest complaint was the parking lot: it was extremely small and hard to drive around. It we had a big SUV, we probably wouldn't have been able to park here. This hotel was nice and close to Downtown. If we were younger, we could have walked across the bridge. If I had to plan this trip again, I would have tried to find a more reasonable hotel right Downtown where we could come and go, walk almost everywhere and not have to find (and pay) for a Downtown parking lot.

A nice stay at HI X Very nice hotel. Clean, comfortable, and the staff is personable, professional and very accommodating. The morning breakfast was OK. Nothing special, but my wife loved the coffee and cinnamon rolls. The hotels location is close to the attractions and directly across the street from an amazing sandwich shop. The taco joint next door is really good too. Our room was quiet and very comfortable. Great nights sleep. We will definitely repeat.
