Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Tehachapi by IHG

Where is their integrity? A word of caution Do Not Use IHG Hotels and Resorts (InterContinental Hotels Group) to book a hotel. Our son was coming from Kansas to Fresno, California to visit us. They had some car trouble and needed to stop in Tehachapi, California. So his father and I got on the phone to find some hotels. We called the number on Trip Advisor which was (877) 895-5095 which is IHG customer service it is a separate entity from Holiday Inn Express, which we did not know. We just wanted to find out if there was any vacancies at Holiday Inn Express in Teachapi. IHG said yes and we told them we weren't ready to take the room just yet, that our son was not sure where he was going to stay. IHG said we could go ahead and leave our credit card information. I told her again we were not ready to take the room. She then said if he finds another hotel to call back and cancel and our credit card vould not be charged, My gut feeling was not to trust her and so l ask her again it we cancel the room reservation would our card be charged and again she replied no it will not be charged. My husband gave her the card number and I asked one more time, just to make sure our credit card would not be charged if canceled, again she said it would not. We called our son and told him about Holiday Inn Express and he told us he had found a hotel already. So we immediately called IG customer service back and told them we didn't need the room. Guess what... IHG told us their 24 hour policy and that they do not do refunds. So we want to let others know not to use this 2nd party reservation service. They are dishonest and should not be trusted. In our opinion Holiday Inn and other hotels should not be in business with them.

Nice stay Nice hotel. Room was clean and comfortable. Staff was nice, helpful, and friendly. Breakfast was ok. There was a few thing they did not have or unable to make but there was enough for a decent breakfast. I liked where they were located. I will definitely stay here again next time I drive thru this area.

Comfortable and easy stay Hotel very comfortable, easy to arrive, just out of the motorway but distant enough to do not ear any noise. Rooms are huge, beds super soft and pleasant. Decent breakfast, the town is near so you can go there to have some dinner or lunch, I stopped here on my way from San Francisco to the Grand Canyon, couldn't be a better choice. Many facilities that I didn't have time to use. Huge Car park Staff friendly, special thanks to Sierra, she is great.

Wonderful stop at the top of the mountain Great quiet place to rest for the night Excellent breakfast and nice accommodations my only complaint was that AT snd T dies not work up there and couldn’t make any phone calls until hostess helped me reach my family I ate at the Indian restaurant beside the Baymont Hotel and it was again delicious with great service

Awesome check in with Abby We decided to stop and stay here in Tehachapi on our way home from a week long honeymoon road trip. I've been through town several times and always like stopping at the Kohnen's Country Bakery and driving through downtown area so wanted to take the opportunity to stay here and check more out. When we arrived Abby checked us in and was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the area and answered some questions we had. She had lots of suggestions for us in town as well as surrounding areas and suggested stops on our way back home as well! Thank you so much Abby! The room was clean and very well stocked. And had the newer floor plan and laid out very nice. Location is right off the highway and across from Starbucks. Oh and the fridge has the freezer compartment! So many hotels don't do you can't refresh/refreeze your ice packs of your hauling an ice chest but they did so extra stars!!!
