Not Up to Usual Quality Inn Standards Front desk staff was pleasant at check in. Got around to where we were told to park and walked right in the building at approx 1030 PM. Doors were unlocked or propped open. Walked in a room booked for 3 adults and found one bed. When I went to question staff she told me no I was in a 1 bed room. After showing her my confirmation she moved us to a room with 2 beds. Very pet friendly. Only a $20 charge. Rooms were clean. Very warm even on a 55 degree night and AC took quite awhile to cool off. After a 10 hour drive we were looking for a drink and a snack. Vending machines had very little in them and only accepted quarters. Beds were comfortable. Breakfast was lacking. Couple dry cereals, pancakes and eggs from a box. I had an English muffin with peanut butter. No creamers for coffee. All in all just underwhelming. Would we stay again? Probably because the convenience of location and being pet friendly and clean while reasonably priced. Could certainly use some TLC though.

older This was an older quailty inn. We had a big suite but the room had only a sofa, but had more than enough space for some chairs. Had a small bathroom located in the bedroom area. The room did have room darking blinds. The hotel advertises a lounge and restaurant but there is not one. The pool is indoors in the lobby are with room next to it.

Good Enough for Short Stay Room clean, comfortable, and literally next to (indoor) pool. One of the nicer, larger fitness rooms in a Choice Hotel with multi-station fitness machines. The dining area was the largest I have seen in this hotel chain and the food was better than average. There is no elevator in this two-level hotel so reason for choosing poolside room was to make sure room would be on first level. If you have a lot of luggage to bring in, request first floor room! Relatively easy access from nearby highway. Stores, including Walmart, close by. Bathroom looked like it had been recently updated. Staff courteous but housekeeping staff came into room on checkout day twice before checkout, the first time without knocking! The poolside room actually had a front and back entrance. There is noise from the pool to contend with when guests are using it! Would stay again.

Ok for a single person for an inexpensive over night stay The cost was ok for myself for the night without my wife. The building exterior needs much work. The hallway exit on my wing had no lock or secured entry. The hall was dark and really run down. My actual room was decent. And appeared clean.

Don't Expect Reasonable Management Here My granddaughter was traveling south on I-25 and called me late in the evening that the highway ahead was closed due to a blizzard and she wasn't going to be able to get to the HI in Raton. I called them and they cancelled the reservation with no charge. If the road is closed and you can't get there, they understood. She thought she could get to Trinidad and spend the night there and hopefully head on the next morning. It was about 7PM when I made the reservation at this Quality Inn. By 8:00 she called that the Colorado DOT had closed the highway just south of Pueblo and she wouldn't be able to get to Trinidad. I immediately called the hotel and was told they would cancel the reservation without charge. But, I was charged. I contacted Quality Inn HQ and they told me that I should not have been charged and they would contact the manager and also gave me his email address. I emailed him but I received no response. A follow up email. No response. I contacted HQ again and they were very nice and said I shouldn't be charged but they have no control as this hotel is a private franchise. They contacted the manager again. Still no refund and no response. I understand the cancellation policy but if the highway dept. closes the highway and you can't get there, most people would understand and not keep the $143 for which they provided no service, no linens had to be washed, no water or electricity used, no breakfast eaten. All profit for an apparently greedy general manager.
