Good place to stay This was a clean, comfortable, and convenient place to stay while on a road trip. The clerks were friendly and the lobby was large. Room was good.. Bed and shower were fine. I didn’t see any bugs. Only negative was the carpet. Like most hotels like this, it needs cleaning or replacement. The sink area looked newly remodeled. Breakfast had the full range including eggs sausage gravy biscuits yogurt cereal oatmeal coffee juice and apples. No bananas. Large eating area. With TV. This is a two story hotel with outside entrances so we were able to park right outside our room. I would stay here again.

Sweet spot of Northern Tennessee We have stayed at this hotel about five times in the last decade. The location is excellent and it is near Reelfoot Lake, Tennessee which is an attraction in itself. It is right around the corner from Discovery Park, which is the best kept secret to us Northeners. For a chain hotel. The personal service is always exceptional, it is always clean and the breakfast is worth the stay!

How not to run a hotel Was not impressed when driving up, kids immediately wanted me to book elsewhere. Little did I know, I was going to have to. Made the mistake of letting my kids open the door ahead of me and they walked into a used room, porn blaring on the tv, condoms in the trashcan, beds trashed, used towels on the floor...bathroom door was closed so no idea if anyone was still in the room. Reported it to the front desk and they said they weren't authorized to give me a different room until speaking with the manager in the morning. They could not refund the room either until speaking to the manager in the morning. The employees were not authorized to call the manager themselves. After calling my credit card company they also were not allowed to speak to anyone authorized to refund the room. I was given the option to book another room and hope that the original room was refunded. After trying to get the companies to work this out for 2 hours I decided to go next door to get a room which was 1000% better for what ended up being just a few dollars more. Ended up having to do a charge back with my credit card company since they never authorized the refund, saying that we could have still used that room, which was at best never cleaned from the previous guest, and at worse still occupied.

Wish there were more little motels like this. These days clean and comfortable roadside motels are a lot harder to find than they were in my youth. As a result, making our lodging plans when working an out of state wedding has become a lot harder than it used to be. Luckily I was able to find a decent rate through my company to stay at the Quality Inn Union City. My partner was a bit uncertain about it upon check in with how far out from the rest of town it was and how close in proximity it was to the highway. But I assured her reviews were nothing but positive for this property. She especially warmed up to it after I showed her where we would've stayed instead. Check in was incredibly fast and easy, lobby was definitely older but incredibly clean and spacious. We were placed in room 210 adjacent to the stairs and far enough away from the highway noise. The room was spacious and included 2 queen beds which made for more than adequate room for working in. My partner used the shower after we checked in and informed me she had to clear a spider web and take out a couple flies before she could shower. But honestly for value lodging those are the least of my worries and have encountered worse. Wifi was fast and incredibly easy to use which was incredibly helpful because I had absolutely NO cell signal in our room (Thanks T-Mobile...) thankfully though when it came time to get dinner the hotel book suggested Snappy Tomato Pizza which I hadn't tried in nearly 20 years. Excited at the prospect of reliving my better days, I was grateful that the in-room phone still worked (an amenity I also have not utilized in decades) and proceeded to order some pizza for the two of us. Pizza delivery girl arrived with our food and two sodas shortly after. If I would change anything about this room it would've been the length of the table, as it was not nearly big enough to fit our pizza and drinks which led us to becoming creative and placing the pizza box on the bed while we utilized the breadstick box as a makeshift plate. Shortly after eating, we got settled into the bed which was INCREDIBLY comfortable. A big surprise especially for a property like this. The next morning we were up bright and early for breakfast as we had to be at our venue by 8:30 AM. Breakfast was more than adequate for this kind of property. Was pleasantly surprised by the availability of yogurt and oatmeal as well. I don't know where Choice Hotels get their sausages but they're always delicious. Can't say the same for their biscuits but I usually get toast or cereal anyway. We returned to the property around 11AM and ate our leftover pizza for lunch, LOVED having a minifridge in the room and wish this were the standard for all value motels. My partner took a nap for the next hour while I proceeded to continue working on the music selections for the wedding. While working all of a sudden my cellphone rang in the room (something I was not expecting as I mentioned there was NO cell signal in the room....thanks T-Mobile..) turns out my mother had called me. Unfortunately, I had to walk out into the parking lot in order to return her call. However, I did not have to walk very far before I was back in signal range. That's hardly the fault of the property management though. Nonetheless, I expected better signal considering everywhere else in town reception was fine. (FIX THIS T-MOBILE) After getting off the phone with my mother. I returned to the room and proceeded to get ready for the wedding. Wedding was a hit and the couple were incredibly sweet. Loved working with them and felt incredibly welcome. We arrived back to the motel at around 11PM with McDonald's in hand and a great feeling of another job well done. We stayed up for a little while we ate our food and got settled in. We were fast asleep in a matter of minutes. Thankfully with the wedding now complete we were free to sleep in the next morning which we did until about 9 am (10 our time) and proceeded to partake in breakfast once more. I reminded my partner that if we leave out around 10am Central that we could make it back around 2PM and still have the remaining day to rest. She agreed and we were able to get checked out quickly.

Nice hotel This hotel was not newly built but was very clean in room and lobby. Nice quality bedding. Had been remodeled in recent years with nice marble-like sink counter, tile floor in bath. Mattress was firm which wasn’t good for us but was still a very nice quality mattress. Breakfast offered several choices of scrambled eggs, sausage gravy and biscuits, sausage links, Belgian waffles and more. The two older ladies working the breakfast buffet were such a joy waiting on us and being very sweet and friendly. The check in staff was very friendly too. We so often are disappointed in our stays at various hotels. We were prepared to be disappointed in this one and were so very wrong in our expectations! We were in room 222.
