Hilton Waikoloa Village

Expected MORE… Came here with my family many years ago within a year of the initial property opening. It’s was in excellent order. The property is fairly satisfactory now , but there are a number of drawbacks, depending on the experience in expectation of quality for the price paid. Be prepared to spend a lot of money on property for pretty much anything you need to buy. You’re going to have to leave the property to obtain food etc bless you’ve budgeted a lot of dough to eat on site. Our room was not cleaned very well and it is evident they don’t clean the a/c vents. They are full of built up dust. Walls in room is high traffic touch areas are soiled and not ”cleaned”. Looking at door to the room… finger prints and smudges EVERYWHERE. That is just gross. Rooms, significantly outdated, especially in the main living areas. Bedding looks like motel six quality. IF They literally refinished the furniture the rooms, update the flooring,,, it would look more respectable. In addition, the lamps look 20+ years old and lampshades were stained and frayed in some areas. Many of there pool area cushions have bird crap on them that is wet and dried… They are stained like crazy… I mean, come on people.. how about dedicating a small crew to keep these routinely cleaned and presentable. So make sure you bring a towel to cover them up unless you don’t mind laying in bird crap…. Also - No real shade available unless you’re willing to pay $$ substantially for it. Half the seating u must pay for to get out of the sun and have a cushion. This is a huge resort. How come it’s Saturday at noon and there are zero pool towels in any towel dispensers? Unreal… TVs went down during the olympics…. How great is this!! Everybody was complaining about this fact.. Don’t know what the deal was but apparently it was resort wide.. apparently they had to fly someone in to fix the problem. One thing we did notice is that the dust was significantly reduced if we kept the windows closed. If u have the door open and the screen closed, this would help. Apparently there’s much debris that is in the air. No biggie per se, just a note for future guests. Last day there, trans events down. I just had surgery and can’t walk far. Well, I suffered through walking fyi the other side if the resort for time share presentation. I was told I could use the boat,,,, but my cripple self didn’t want to end up in the drink falling! But it what it is…. The valet and bell service was very helpful. But wow, the put the PORK to you for parking… $50 freaking dollars a day!! Unnnnnreal!! U can tell the property had aged and appears capital improvements needed to sustain a high level experience. I was really expecting to have a 5 star experience,,, but the 9 nights fell very short. __‍♂️

ROOMS NEED UPDATING The grounds are nice except for the beach, which is very rocky and not really even accessible. The room was extremely disappointing. Smelled super musty as if someone had smoked in it years prior. There were ding marks in the walls. Furniture was outdated. Room was not ready, when it was supposed to be. This will definitely be our last stay here.

Dirty and Run Down… Hilton is fired! So some background, I’ve been a consistent Diamond Member over the last 10 years and am probably getting close to lifetime Diamond… it doesn’t matter because after this trip we are pulling our Hilton credit card and moving over to Marriott. We have been fighting the change for years due to Diamond status but Hilton has tanked since the pandemic and this hotel is a prime example. In my opinion Diamond Status is now worthless. $36 food credit???? They give $50 credits to regular guests here! Our stays at Marriott properties have been so much better recently. I booked with points which is probably looked down upon…. But sorry it’s why we have the Hilton Credit Card…. When we checked in, we got into the Palace Tower…. There is nothing Palatial about the Palace Tower…. If you’ve stayed at as many Hiltons as I have you will get this reference…. The hotel rooms in the Palace Tower remind me of a worn out tired Doubletree in a place like Wichita or Omaha…. Not a resort in Hawaii. When you check in they act like Daily housekeeping service is some sort of huge perk…. It’s kind of expected at a resort…. Anyway you can tell the rooms aren’t cleaned. We were treated with dust all over the furniture, mold in the shower and a disgusting showerhead…. There is a mini fridge in the room… college dorm style…. On ours the protective plastic film was still on and peeling off… weather stripping dangling off the door and just a musty allergy ridden feeling in the room. Each floor has a microwave in the ice rooms… kind of looks like what you’d expect at a break room in a jiffy lube! The beds are awful and I can only describe them as one step above a prison mattress…. The pillows are comically bad… I had 4 on the bed all were equally useless. The resort at first glance looks nice… but once you’re here you notice things….the pools have missing tiles… windows on the worthless tram (you can walk faster) are cracked. I complained a couple of times to the front desk about the room nobody cared. I don’t mind spending money… but give me a clean room, and good shower and a comfortable bed.. if a property hits on that I’m ok with $700 for 30 minutes with dolphins…. $55 a plate for a breakfast buffet and $20 drinks at the pool…. When you pay those prices and get stuck in a dirty room… honestly you just get progressively pi$$ed off and by the end of your stay here your just praying for your flight so you can leave. The final hilarious piece from this hotel is the claim that each one of their crappy pool towels is microchipped…. Nobody wants your towels! That are terrible just like your rooms!!! My advice book somewhere else or come in with very low expectations…. We will never return and you should just avoid coming!!!

Avoid at all costs Stayed in the Hilton Waikoloa in July 2024 for 7 days in the Makai tower. The entire stay had no Air Conditioning. The compensation we received was for 3 mornings of complimentary breakfasts and a box fan for the room. The breakfast buffet area (in a different building) also didn’t have any working A/C. My son, who has chronic lung disease, couldn’t stay in the buffett area for more than 10 minutes bc it was sweltering, when we asked if we could just take our plates to go and explained the medical issues we were told no. It was so bad we ended up just throwing out the free breakfast vouchers. The entire pool area of the resort has ZERO umbrellas. There is ZERO shade, the only shade available is if you want to pay $250/day for a 2 seat cabana which doesn’t cover a normal sized adult. Or you can pay for an actual umbrella in a VIP area for the day, wild situation for a full sun pool especially with no working AC in the building. Just to add to the heat, there was no working ice machine on our 4th floor tower. The activities for children are a joke, we went to the bracelet making class, showed up 10 minutes early, and were told that there was too many kids and they couldn’t participate. Overall – do yourself a huge favor and stay away from this resort. It’s not up to the standards of any other Hilton’s I’ve ever stayed at.

Big Island paradise If you want to experience paradise, go to this resort. You can swim with dolphins, do watersports in artificial sealake. Resort has also its own rail and boat. Breakfast experience was avesome, too. You can enjoy in two swimming pools or go to spa. If you like art you can just walk trough resort by foot. Certainly recomend to visit it.
