More like a hotel-shaped AirBnB, but without the charm. Or the breakfast. Our experience with the Crescent Suites hotel was quite surreal. We were in Waltham to visit Brandeis, and this was by far the closest and most convenient hotel. First, I found it pretty much impossible to actually reach anyone by phone (see below for why). Second, you cannot book it very far in advance. Bookings open about a month in advance, and I booked the room with 2 Queen beds. Our flight getting in to Boston was late, so we arrived at the hotel past about 11:30pm. Earlier in the evening, I had received an email from the manager (Dana) that if we got late, there would be nobody at the reception, and the door would be locked (!). We had to retrieve our key from a lockbox outside the door -- he sent the combination in the email. It was a little nerve-wracking -- what if the lockbox didn't open? What if the key didn't work? It wasn't clear if there was going to be any staff at the hotel at all. We arrived, and the good news was that the lockbox opened, and the key worked. That bad news was that there was actually no staff in the hotel at all. We got to the room, and wanted some more blankets, but there was nobody to call or ask! Some of the reviews had implied that there was a breakfast. We went down in the morning, and there was nothing -- nobody at the reception, no staff anywhere, and no breakfast of any kind anywhere. We drank the filter coffee in the room and left. While leaving, we left a signed document saying that we had been there. In 30 years of traveling, first time when I stayed in a hotel and never met any staff of any kind, at all.

a nice place we chose to stay here because it was the highest rated hotel in waltham on tripadvisor. the free parking was nice, the receptionist was friendly and efficient, and the room was clean and well furnished. the downside was the price; the hotel has not restored the services from pre-covid days that contributed to its high rating, i.e., no breakfast, no daily cleaning, and the possibility that there might be no staff available for check-in if you arrive at a time when the sole receptionist is not present. as a customer, if you reduce services, I think you should consider lowering the price.

excellent value We only stayed one night but everything was great. Dana at reception was pleasant and helpful with advice and directions. The room was enormous and clean. Wish we could have stayed longer and would definitely go back when in the area. Price was also great compared to similar hotels in the area.

Wonderful couples weekend This place was fantastic. The front desk clerk was super helpful, almost like a tour guide. Clean rooms close proximity to public transportation. Definitely going here on our next adventure east. Great suites for the price
