Clean but tired. Super friendly, helpful staff The great things about this hotel are the kitchenette and the staff. This small hotel is pretty tired. My carpet had a large (18") tear in it. The curtains needed to be cleaned. There were water/rust stains in the sink and tub. But everything was clean. I was on the ground floor, since I had lots of heavy luggage and there's no elevator, and the ceiling/second floor floor is like carpeted plywood -- like super echo-y and loud if anyone's staying above you. The place gets really hot; I turned my heat completely off and kept my window open until I went to sleep and it was still too warm. The kitchen is pretty well outfitted, but with janky stuff. The staff were super helpful and cheerful. The location was good for me -- between Palmer and Wasilla. Quiet area. Laundry was only $2 per machine, and the office staff were happy to sell me quarters. Bed was comfortable. Three huge closets. Not a lot of outlets.

Not a typical hotel Great if looking for a long or short stay. Miles in the office is awesome! Room was clean. Had trouble with the TV the first weekend I was there. Be warned there is a second floor but no elevators. I would stay again if I needed to be in Wasilla overnight.

No frills hotel We had a hard time finding the place because there are no signs when we followed the emailed directions we were given and it was after dark. The only sign was on the opposite side of the building on a different road. It looks like apartments so we drove by, got lost in houses, then called. Super nice man talked us back and got us to the parking lot. Inside has no lobby but the service desk is in housekeeping room. No big deal. Our room was a comfortable suite and very clean. The only other problem we had was the heat didn't work in our room so it was a bit cool all night. We asked how to adjust the heat but it did nothing when turning the dial. The pipe never heated up.

AWESOME! Wonderful room The room is extremely spacious SUPER CLEAN. The bathroom is really large & even has large tub. Nice large kitchenette cupboards, refrigerator, microwave, sink. Definitely more than you you could ask for. Super happy with our stay. We had a late check-in and we received VERY easy to follow instructions from Harrison when I made the reservation. He was super nice & patient with all my questions. He even sent a text with my information to access my room.. EXTREMELY IMPRESSED..

Worse experience Ever Booked a room for a planned vacation from september 22 thru october 15. We've stayed here in the past and loved our experience. NOT THIS TIME. From when we first checked in until we checked out, the temperature never went below 80 degrees in our room. At times it was so hot we would start sweating. We begged and pleaded with management to correct the problem, to no avail. We were advised to "open a window". We were given a fan to use. We live in central florida and have never been this hot inside our home. After a week of sweat i begged my husband to change hotels but he's old school and wanted to see if they would correct the problem. Didnt happen. Our bed was so uncomfortable we went to Walmart and spent $125.00 on a memory foam mattress topper. Also while there a guest's vehicle was vandalized. It was on the local news. Whoever stayed above us apparently didn't settle down each night until 2-3 am when the stomping finally stopped. The hotel phone rang in our room on several occasions around 11 pm telling us it was the hotel office and they needed our credit card number again because it was "accidentally" deleted in the system. I knew it was a scam and hung up. I mentioned it to management who said there was nothing they could do about it, to just leave the phone off the hook. The worse time was when a man knocked on our door wanting to know if my husband and i wanted to go to lunch with him. I told him no and shut the door. Scared the crap out of me. My husband was outside at the time. We were there 24 days. Upon leaving we requested some type of refund and were told they could refund us $40. Bahaha what a joke. We've stayed here 3-4 times in the past 10 years and never, ever had a complaint about anything. Must have changed hands. We will be back to Wasilla in the future but will never, ever stay at Alaska's Select Inn.
