i love the plaza its cheap, its not dirty, big rooms, awesome pool area, love the bar, and the front desk girls are so nice and helpful. i need to stay there again. its been like 2 months, sorry so late on review. get a hot tub king room or the honeymoon suite, they are both reasonably priced. cant wait for my next trip to wausau. should be soon and i will be staying at the plaza.

Disgusting, blood in rooms, black mold everywhere It is so confusing to me how this hotel has so many stars and TripAdvisor. Literally no one cleans at this hotel there is garbage constantly everywhere. There are overflowing bags of garbage that are from two days prior that are just littered around every common space. There is no staff working anywhere basically at any time. I cleaned off a t s table in a common area on a Friday night the bag of garbage was still there on Sunday morning. There is extensive water damage in this hotel as it seems that the enclosed a previously existing outdoor pool and the ventilation system is poured. Therefore all of the paint is crumbling and tracking as well as there is mold growing up in the top of all of the ceilings which is visible. We went with a group of about 12 families every person‘s room was absolutely unacceptable. One of the families had a visibly soiled bloody mattress about the size of a person to be frank. When they informed hotel staff they simply moved them out of that room and a few hours later put someone else in that same room. I seriously cannot wrap my head around how this place is still open!! The department of health has informed our party that that they are aware of the issues. Run!!!

Health Department needs to shut this place down If you like stained sheets and towels, blood stained doors, leaky roofs, wet carpets, dirt everywhere, heaters that don't work, ice-cold hallways and a hotel that smells like stale cigarettes and mold, then this place is for you! How this place is even in business is beyond me. We had a group of 29 people stay here 2/7/2020 - 2/9/2020, for a basketball tournament and we couldn't get out of here fast enough on Sunday. The people who work here could care less about the place. It's rundown, full of mold and grossness all over the place. They should be embarrassed of themselves. The health department needs to take a little visit to this place. I would not recommend anyone ever stay here.

Dingy but spacious Very outdated and not as clean as it should be. Mildewed grout in the shower. Fitted sheets weren’t deep enough to stay on the bed. But the room was spacious with a sofa and easy chair, microwave and fridge. No bad smells either. The breakfast room was quite chilly meaning the “hot” food was lukewarm. There was no sugar for the coffee, just sugar substitutes.

Needs a deep cleaning We stayed here recently in a tower room. Although the hotel is outdated, it has potential. My biggest gripe is that the place really needs a deep cleaning. Everything was dirty! As mentioned in some of the reviews, there is a part of the hotel that has water damage from a roof leak. I can understand that, but for the place to be dirty gives the perception that they don’t care. The 2 employees that I dealt with at the front desk were friendly, but they were literally the only employees I saw during my stay. No one cleaning or taking of things in the building. The bathroom on the main level had standing water in one of the sinks because the drain didn’t work (our shower drain didn’t work either, so there is apparently a plumbing issue). The breakfast was minimal. We were so turned off by the uncleanliness that we didn’t feel like eating there. I would not stay here again.
