Holiday Inn Winnipeg - Airport West - Head and shoulders above 'chain' hotels Don't ever say 'all chain hotels are the same'. If ever a hotel deserved an accolade then this one does. The duty manager, Angela, went out of her way to help us. A 48hr delay in arrival (due to airline flight cancellation and amendments) created issues for meeting family in Winnipeg, car hire and other reservations. The front desk and duty manager smoothed away every problem and truly deserve recognition. The room (with balcony) was perfect to allow us to settle in, relax and unwind. Great room/house keeping every day ensured our room was pristine. Dining in was pleasant - its a limited evening menu - but nonetheless very acceptable All in all, this is one exceptionally good hotel with great staff. Our thanks for making our stay such a pleasure.

Hands down best hotel in the city! Hands down best hotel to stay at in Winnipeg with kids… other than dining you don’t have to leave. The pool(s) are fantastic… they have a small pool for toddlers and a regular pool with a slide …. The giant play area is awesome. They have a ping pong table and foosball game too! Absolutely family friendly. We have stayed a few times and the bunk room is our kids favourite. I would highly suggest not dining on site … food is underwhelming to put it politely and the wait time is horrendous… so yup except cold food. The staff is fantastic though so just order food or dine out and I can promise you will enjoy your stay!

Nice. But busy! Nice suite rooms. Nice to have such big suites with 2 beds in a room That has a door! It’s a great hotel room layout for a family with kids. The pool and play area are really fun for kids but it is extremely busy on weekends which makes it not fun.. the pool area really needs renovation also. Overall a good hotel and fun play area for kids. Just best to stay during the week if you are going for your kids to enjoy.

never again First off I remember this hotel being excellent the last time I stayed there. When we checked it was very disorganized. The hotel room was clean which is probley the only thing that wasn't an issue. The pool was disappointing as it was small with no shallow end for younger kids. Whole pool was 4 ft deep. As soon as there was about 15-20 people in the pool it got cramped. For supper we went to the restaurant in the inn. There was 2 servers working and by the fact that they would take the order and disappear into the kitchen until they brought the food out, I'd guess they were the only staff in the whole restaurant. They were also responsible for delivering food to rooms. This meal also lead to me developing minor food poisoning at approximately 2am but I'll get back to that. In the evening I attended the lounge for drinks with a friend. There was only 1 bartender working who appeared very tired. Turns out he had been working for 17+ hours and had to be back for 630am. With this said, the hotel was poorly staffed and the staff that were present were overworked. Like I said earlier i got mild food poisoning from supper. At 2am i woke up and went to use the washroom. The washroom doors are those fansy doors that slide back and forth to close but dont actually seal. When i got sick, due to the acoustics of the washroom it projected the sound into the hotel room that woke up my wife. Very poor design by my opinion. And lastly when we went to check out we tried to get an elevator. We noticed that only 2 out of 3 elevators were working the whole time we were there. After waiting 10 minutes for an elevator, we decided to use the stairwell. When we got to the bottom we discovered it didn't lead to the lobby or parking garage, only to an emergency only exit. This was the same case with the other stairwell. After another 10 minute wait we finally got an elevator to the parking garage and we're able to checkout.

Clean hotel but having Portage Ave right beside allows too much noise. Clean hotel and rooms. Food from the restaurant on site is good. Pool and hot tub was busy as is family oriented, and play structure. Stayed on 2nd floor. Street light right outside the window was very bright. Also lots of street noise as well.
