Best staff ever! From the moment we walked into Springhill in Yuma, the staff was by far amazing! We were greeted by a beautiful girl named Patty, she was so kind and sweet. I had chatted on the Marriott app expressing that it was my son’s birthday. When we got up to the room there was balloons and a card with his name on it! What a surprise! During this pandemic, I realize hotels are short staffed and taking on more then usual. The staff here did not fall short of their service! Later that night, my son was hungry and Moises helped him get some food from down stairs. It’s hospitality like this that makes all the difference in a persons day. We appreciate the warm welcome and the amazing stay! If we ever come back we will be staying here for sure! __

I will never stay again This is a hotel I would never stay at again. I usually enjoy the Springhill Suited but not this one. We check in and go to our room and a man jumps up and yells I have a late checkout. We apologize profusely and told them the front desk gave us the key. The room was so uncomfortable the couch bed if pulled out blocked any access to the bathroom from the other bed. The cooler was so loud it kept awake all night. The bathroom was so uncomfortable there was no counter to put stuff on. When we went to the swimming pool it was so filthy that they called the maintenance man to come clean it. Staff was very unfriendly and breakfast was a joke We stood behind a table while a lady handed you stuff.. no toasted toast or bagels. You had a choice between 1 banana or 1 orange. I could not believe this was a Springhill Suites. They should rename it. It is a disgrace to be called a Mariott

Poor hotel - no facilities One thing good about this hotel, the bed thats it. Pool closed, gym closed, seating area closed, any public areas closed, under construction. Still charged full price despite closed facilities. The Holiday Inn next door is 100% better than this dump. Newly renovated. I do not recommend this hotel.

Unsafe, Unsanitary, Highly Disappointed Our family stayed at this property for 4 nights. The staff were all friendly. There was blood on the sheets. They could not have been changed after the last guest. The smoke detector was wrapped in plastic wrap. How could this properly do its job if there was a fire? The pool was open and people were swimming in it. It was green and full of algae. The front desk later said that it wasn’t supposed to be open yet. They would be having it treated. The day before we left I called down to the desk to see if the pool was now open and okay to swim in. I was told yes and it was open until 10 pm. My husband and daughter went down to swim about 8:30 that night. It was completely dark. There were no lights on. When they asked at the front desk, they said there was nothing they could do until the next day when maintenance came in. They were told they could go to the sister property with the adjoining parking lot. The front desk person said they would call next door and let them know they were sending my husband and daughter over. They never called. The person at the sister property was nice and gave them access to the pool. That pool’s surface was covered in bugs. My husband was not going to clean their pool so they could swim. When we booked our stay nothing told us the property was under construction or that there would not be a hot breakfast. I expected that it would be provided somehow differently due to COVID. I did not expect we would have a slip of paper to fill out if we wanted a sack breakfast. The options were a bottle of water, apple, yogurt, granola bar and muffin. We circled all but only received all one day. When booking a hotel an included hot breakfast influences our choice. We were also not told there would not be housekeeping. Our family members that were also staying at the property told us. The day we checked out, the water was shut off from 9 a.m. to noon due to the construction. I emailed corporate about the problems we encountered. I feel there were real safety concerns. I received a generic apologetic response and they said they added 7,500 points to my account. They also said they would forward the info on to the property. I responded and reiterated some of my concerns and said I looked forward to hearing from the location. Corporate then responded and said they were withdrawing the 7,500 points. I did get an email the next day from the location that was again a genetic canned response. I will never stay at this property again. I expect so much more from Marriott.

Under Construction! The website for this location says the rooms are 'newly renovated.' Well, they will be when construction is finished. There is nothing on either the Marriott or the local hotel website that indicated any construction. We stayed two nights there and major construction is going on...this includes the breakfast bar area and entire third floor. So, no hot breakfast buffet and the signs up everywhere tell surprised guests there will be potential noise from 8am to 6pm. It was sort of nice that instead of the promised breakfast buffet they let you fill out a slip of paper requesting a yogurt or muffin delivered in a paper bag to your room. After this shock, we got to our room late at night, about 9pm. It was super hot in the room and we couldn't get A/C to work (it's a large unit by the window that has a wall thermostat). Hubby goes downstairs to get help and was told to 'unplug it and then plug it back in...that usually does the trick.' Um, ok. Well, we tried that and it didn't work, so we gather up our things and go back downstairs. We were given a new room. Hubby goes to get ice on our floor (the second floor of a 3-story bldg), and the ice machine is broken. He goes to the third floor, which he can see is completely under renovation. After moving some wood and a saw, he gets to the ice machine. Fortunately, it was working. Room itself ok but has seen better days. Place definitely needs renovation...we just wouldn't have chosen to be there while it was going on. We were gone all the next day and got back around 9pm. Room hadn't been cleaned. If this is a COVID-19 decision to not provide service in order to reduce exposure, then this wasn't communicated at check-in. Lack of service also meant no refills for the in-room coffee maker. Not a big deal, but the list of disappointments is getting longer. Happily, the second floor ice machine is working and the hubby didn't have to go to the construction zone. On a final note, I have to point out that the description of amenities on the Yuma Springhill website is a little misleading. Copied exactly from their website... -Brand New Modern Rooms with Balconies in each room. [They might be modern when construction is done, but not yet. And no rooms currently have balconies.] -On-Site Bistro open from 6am-11am and 4pm-8pm. [Closed for construction when we were there.] -On-Site Convenience Store [Yes] -Starbucks at the Bistro! [I think maybe this means they serve Starbucks coffee in the Bistro when it's open...there certainly isn't an on-site Starbucks.] --Oversized Fitness Center. [Don't know...didn't look for or use this.] --Large Pool with Undisturbed Views of the Red Rocks. [The description of 'large' is questionable, but there are certainly no 'red rock views.' There are no red rocks in Yuma. There is a view of another nearby hotel.] -Secluded Meditation Area and walking paths. {What? Where? In the parking lot? This hotel is located between other hotels.] Can't recommend this hotel as it is with the construction, and don't think I would return even when it's done. Oh, and signs everywhere say masks are required, but this was not enforced, and (due to the construction) it was a little tight in the lobby and other areas. Yet, another disappointment.
