"That fools should be so deep contemplative;
And I did laugh sans intermission
An hour by his dial. O noble fool!
A worth fool! Motley's the only wear."
–As You Like It, Shakespeare
When investment-savvy brothers David and Tom Gardner founded their financial services company, they looked to these lines describing a contemplative yet comedic character for their name. Sick of the tired, boring investment publications found in 1993, the brothers decided to offer advice without taking themselves too seriously. They injected humor and wit into their thoroughly researched reports, gathering a strong following in the process. Almost 20 years later, the community at The Motley Fool is tighter than ever, with each person offering and taking advice on the rising and falling stars of the stock market every day.
Motley Fool's personal finance experts cover myriad topics, including finance, investing, and retirement, with features appearing in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, the Washington Post, and on Good Morning America. The site sends out regular newsletters on a diverse range of topics, and hosts a national radio show and podcast heard by more than 200,000 listeners weekly. They've also packaged their advice into services, helping clients avoid resorting to reading tea leaves in order to gauge the market.
The story of Mental Health America is a story of hope and transformation. In the year 1900, a young man named Clifford W. Beers suffered an acute breakdown brought on by the death of his brother, and after an unsuccessful suicide attempt, was hospitalized in a private Connecticut mental institution. There, he faced degrading and inhumane abuses at the hands of the untrained staff. Over the next decade, Beers was confined in a number of hospitals, all in brutal conditions. Bruised—literally—but unbroken, Beers began to overcome his tribulations in 1908 with the publication of his autobiography, A Mind That Found Itself. The next year, he founded the organization that would become Mental Health America. Perhaps the starkest symbol of Mental Health America's metamorphic character is the Mental Health Bell, a 300-pound carillon forged from the melted-down chains and shackles once commonplace in mental institutions.
Today, Mental Health America consists of a network of 240 affiliates working to address mental health conditions. The organization lives up to its mission of "promoting mental health, preventing mental disorders, and achieving victory over mental illness" through a number of programs, including health-care reform advocacy programs. Mental Health America has been combating mental health conditions and their associated stigmas for more than a century, and will continue to do so.
There are no shortcuts when it comes to losing weight and learning to live a healthier lifestyle. Effective regimens hinge upon a combination of medical insight, professional guidance and encouragement, and continuing education. Above all else, real-life change stems from a steadfast commitment to making changes and adjustments. All of these factors are taken into account by the professionals at Medifast Weight Control Centers, who use the most current understanding of weight-loss techniques to design personalized programs that complement individual needs and goals.
Going beyond traditional BMI measurements, the centers' technicians use Biospace InBody technology to obtain a detailed assessment of body composition, including muscle mass, body-fat percentage, water balance, and muscular development throughout the torso and limbs. Based on these data, the staff members are able to design a program that emphasizes the importance of a proper diet. These programs typically involve recommendations from the 70 available physician-developed meals, which are easy-to-prepare dishes that feature balanced servings of protein, fiber, vitamins, minerals, and chlorophyll.
The meal regimens also aim to alter eating habits by encouraging clients to eat smaller portions at regular times throughout the day, controlling the cravings that can lead to overeating. Throughout each program, professional counselors will routinely meet with clients to ensure that they remain motivated and on-course.

For more than 15 years, the full-time staff at Heart to Heart Introductions has been playing Cupid with a dating database that now holds upward of 24,000 members. Approximately 85% of that romantic melting pot is made up of busy professionals who don't have the time or patience for typical meeting spots, such as bars, coffee shops, or traffic circles. The team creates each member's personal profile based on phone and in-office interviews and then sends them off to other members that match their personality and preferences. When interests are mutually piqued, the staff sets up dates or provides members with each other's digits, using feedback from how the dates go to instruct future matches. When sparks are absent, the process starts over again, with new profiles and pictures sent every two days. The love luminaries help increase the chances of a successful first date by offering tips on proper duds, suitable conversation, and why pretending you invented soccer is bad.
