  • Havin’ A Party Brooklyn
Havin’ A Party owner Larry Scott is the life of the party—whether he attends it or not. Larry loves to delight crowds as a magician, a role he’s played for the Brooklyn Arts Council, and he’s also happy to be the DJ. But as Havin’ A Party owner, Larry can also answer the needs of every party, from balloons to piñatas to special effects entertainment. For the past 29 years, Havin’ A Party has furnished party goers with full-body costumes, ranging from a laughing bunny to Abe Lincoln. Larry also honors his own interest in magic with an extensive supply of tricks and gags—you can fool your friends with a clock that runs backwards, or shock your parents with a fake-arm trick. • WL2P Entertainment
The WL2P in WL2P Entertainment stands for "We Like To Party," but the team also likes other things—such as laser shows, speaking foreign languages, and doling out wigs. The party experts specialize in festive light shows, which can feature lasers or "intelligent lighting" that shifts to suit each song's mood. The team's emcees, meanwhile, are all multilingual, chatting fluently in English, Italian, and Spanish; in a similarly multicultural vein, their DJ has spent more than 15 years spinning tracks ranging from Top 40 numbers to Greek tunes and Latin hits. Clients can even add a live element to the entertainment by including a professional percussionist, saxophonist, or singer. Their touch-screen photo booths come with an attendant to troubleshoot, as well as wacky wigs that help subjects legally add "Hair Color: Pink" to their driver's licenses.
