The coaches at Athletes Edge are dedicated to creating top-performing sportsmen and women. Just ask former UFC light-heavyweight champion "Suga" Rashad Evans, who benefitted from the company's rigorous mixed-martial-arts training program. They also help college prospects prepare for the NFL combine, and specialize in sports ranging from baseball, basketball, and soccer, to volleyball and tennis. The crew focuses on enhancing each adult’s or child's capacity for speed, agility, strength, and overall performance in a fun, sports-oriented environment. The classes are designed for all types of people with varying fitness goals.
Director of training Jeff Sanders, a certified strength-and-conditioning and performance-enhancement specialist, worked with several influential NFL coaches when he trained the Baltimore Ravens beginning in 2001. Sanders also gained clinical-rehabilitation and gait-training experience while working in the inpatient post-op division of Shands hospital. He and his team train athletes in the brand-new, 62,000-square-foot Fernandez Family Center and the two adjacent football and soccer fields on the Saint Thomas University campus in North Miami.

Safe, springy, and super-exciting: kids and adults can agree on that description of Off The Wall Trampoline Fun Center's 11,000 square feet of trampoline space, where every surface (walls included) is either bouncy or softly padded. Besides hopping around like kangaroos on a moon mission, visitors can play low-gravity versions of dodgeball, or an all-dunks take on basketball.
Off The Wall's remaining 25,500 square feet contain other exciting indoor attractions as well, including a rock wall and and arcade full of new and old-school games with a variety of prizes available. A restaurant with a java bar is also available for guests looking for something to eat or drink, with beer and wine available. Inside a two-level laser tag arena, players defend earth from invading alien robots during pitched battles beneath strobe lights. A special jump area has also been set aside for younger kids, along with a toddler playground designed for kids 6 and under. To reenergize after a long day of play, the whole family can reconvene at Off The Wall's café for Angus burgers or slices of New York-style pizza.
The United States Tennis Association named Pompano Beach Tennis Center "one of the top municipal tennis facilities in the country," and it's easy to see why. The center is set within Community Park, and it boasts 16 lighted clay courts, plus a pro shop with a snack bar. The whole family can boost their tennis skills there—programs range from peewee classes for 4-year-olds, to clinics for pre-teens, to adult cardio-based lessons. Students can also always opt for private lessons from the professional staff, and week-long summer camps keep kids occupied with not just tennis but a range of sports pursuits.
