Arena Combat Sports teaches punishing Muay Thai strikes and swift left hooks in a supportive environment where students are free to learn with or without physical sparring and contact. During boxing training, students thwack heavy bags, hoist kettle bells, and jump rope while Jiu jitsu students grapple on the ground. Arena also offers junior MMA classes, which introduce younger students to the fighting arts while building confidence, self-esteem, and leadership skills.

For 11 years, the instructors and trainers have helped clients achieve their fitness and weight loss goals. Now the workout institution has reopened its doors as Red Zone Fitness, where at this boutique style gym, in a relaxed environment, clients choose their workout duration, even in group classes. With 30-minute one-on-one or group personal-training sessions or 40- to 45-minute group fitness classes, the fitness studio follows the FITT principle: Frequency, Intensity, Time, and Type. Sessions depend on various factors that include strength aerobics, performance goal focus, exercise biomechanics, and effort. Experienced instructors lead students through group fitness classes that include Red Zone training, a group class for women that provides a heart-rate-monitored, full-body workout and strengthens the cardiovascular system in just 40- to 45- minutes with resistance and cardio training.
Upstairs Yoga is a boutique-style studio, where individualized attention and support are both key. Owner and instructor Joanne Barrett funnels her love of modern dance, contact improvisation, and Ashtanga yoga into her studio and the classes she teaches, which focus on bringing people together. As a professional dancer, Joanne is well-versed in flexibility and body awareness, both skills she and her staff try passing on to their students.
Weekly sessions include Ashtanga-Vinyasa classes for all skill levels and Hatha yoga, which focuses on proper alignment. The studio also strengthens core muscles with Pilates classes, and it gets hearts pumping with dance-based Zumba workouts.
At some point during Elite U’s signature X-Training classes, an exerciser probably wishes they could spread out across the facility’s turf-green floor to rest their aching body. The intense 60-minute workout consists of various functional and unconventional movements such as pushing a weight sled, climbing a rope, springing into the air holding a kettlebell, and pounding a tire with a sledgehammer to get to its candy center. The class is one of a handful of group classes offered at the center, along with boot camp and sport-specific training.
