  • Sunshine Bowling Lanes
Seated at the end of one of Sunshine Bowling Lanes' 32 gleaming avenues, six bowlers can snack on popcorn and prepare their rolling arms for a two-hour bowling spree. As the pin-smashing action unfolds, automated-scorekeeping computers take care of the math, displaying scores, ball speed, and excitement-enhancing graphics so bowling buddies can focus on unleashing their speediest throws and most melodic songs about bowling shoes. Popcorn and sodas keep energy levels up as the bowling becomes faster and furiouser, while giant projectors keep the atmosphere energized with music videos. Lanes come in a variety of family-friendly configurations, with standard bumper-free alleys for confident players, and lanes with a gentle pinwards slope, ideal for kids who got stuck with the square ball. Prices fluctuate throughout the week, so be sure to check Sunshine's schedule to determine when redeeming a Groupon nets the best value.

  • Florida Museum for Women Artists
Historically, women artists have often struggled to find a space to express themselves in a field dominated by men. The Florida Museum for Women Artists works to change that by offering 7,300 square feet of facilities and galleries dedicated to promoting and showcasing women artists and their work. Three different galleries allow visitors to gaze upon a selection of contemporary art in exhibitions that rotate ever 10 weeks and include juried shows, selections from collections, and traveling exhibits. Previous and upcoming exhibitions include a variety of ceramic, sculptural, and painted works, along with photographs and textiles. Past shows have even included the innovative exhibit Witness to Creativity, which allowed viewers to watch live as artists created installations over the course of a week. The facility also includes a museum shop and café and also hosts fused-glass jewelry, wineglass painting, and mosaic classes.

  • Volusia County Fair Association
Every November, the Volusia County Fair comes to town, creating a space for locals to showcase their horticultural, livestock, and artistic endeavors. Awards go to the participants with the best pigs or the sweetest singing voices, while traditional ferris wheels and swings send visitors soaring in the air, while carousels have them wondering why their horse can never reach the finish line.

  • Family Fun Town
Family Fun Town collects a half-dozen family friendly attractions into one little village of games and activities. The miniature golf course, for one, challenges visitors with realistic sand and water traps, but also rewards them with views of a scenic waterfall. Go-Karts and competitive arcade games give everyone the chance to try to outdo one another, while batting cages and a bungee bounce ride provide more athletic challenges. The Town's most unique attraction, though, is the Balladium, a colorful arena filled with obstacles, black lights, and thumping music. At each end of the space stands a row of cannons, capable of launching soft foam balls across the room. Teams man these Ball Blasters and fire back and forth at one another, dodging the projectiles that come their way. Yet the arena was primarily built to be safe for everyone who visits: the facility features rounded edges everywhere, lacks tripping hazards, and remains a secret from the out-of-work pirate community.
