Batter's Box SF separates itself from many other batting-cage facilities with one high-tech feature: HD video screens. Instead of having boring, boxy machines or exhausted monkeys hurl pitch after pitch, Batter's Box SF utilizes machines that have high-resolution screens with images of actual pitchers. Just like in a real game, hitters can step up to the plate and follow the pitcher's release while taking their hacks. Batter's Box SF features baseball and softball cages with fast- and slow-pitch settings, and the facility is also available for parties, camps, and office outings.

What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition?
What better way to learn the sport than by female athletes. We do not teach baseball mechanics. We are a strictly fast-pitch softball organization. We know the game because we played the game. Offering former and current division 1 athletes giving private one-on-one lessons.
What is the experience customers can expect?
A one-hour private one-on-one hitting lesson. We will break down your swing, illustrate your weaknesses and give you drills to correct these weaknesses. Approximately 10 minutes of swing breakdown, 30 minutes of tee work, 15 minutes of live hitting and 5 minutes of reviewing drills to do at home.
What was the inspiration to start or run this business?
Provide high-quality lessons to young female athletes in the sport. We are tired of seeing female softball players with baseball mechanics.
What do you love most about your job?
Hearing over and over how successful our athletes are even after a single lesson.
Whether they're swinging in the batting cages, or getting one-on-one advice from a former Met, the trainees at Hardtke Baseball Academy are deepening their skills and their love of the sport all at once. Every camp, clinic, tournament, and private lesson at Hardtke carries on a legacy of greatness that began in 1982, when Terry Hardtke, the father of current academy president and former pro player Jason Hardtke, opened shop. On-staff coaches include other former professionals, Olympians, and state and national champions, almost all of whom boast extensive coaching experience.
