Started as a single Newport Beach clinic in 1971, Lindora was the brainchild of Dr. Marshall Stamper, who was motivated by the unfortunate loss of his mother due to weight-related complications. Now, more than 40 years later, Lindora's weight-loss programs continue to bestow humanoids with a plethora of personalized nutrition plans and private one-on-one health consultations. At each Lindora location, medically trained teams of health-care professionals guide patients through lab work, health assessments, and exams to discern the most efficient trajectory into better health. Patients receive encouragement to adjust their lifestyle and behavior, and bellies stay buoyed by nutrition support and menu plans that spotlight fresh, balanced meals.
Long-term weight maintenance is the goal of the clinic's medically based programs, which means patients needn't worry about extra pounds boomeranging back into their lives like a persistent pet chinchilla. Check the FAQs page here for more information about Lindora's approach to weight loss.
Featured by Parenting OC magazine, CrossFit Active Performance’s trainers include martial artists, a dancer, and a wildland firefighter, but that doesn’t even scratch the surface of this diverse team. All certified, they strive to promote healthy, active lifestyles based on CrossFit’s principles of varied, functional fitness. Each day they design a new Workout of the Day—WOD—which might have athletes sweating through exercises such as pushups and pull-ups, rowing, running, or Olympic-style weight lifts. They also specialize in less conventional fitness exercises including rope climbs, sled pushing, tire flipping, and politely asking muscles to please get bigger.
CrossFit Active Performance is about more than just getting in shape; it's also about forming a community and supporting fellow athletes. All students are encouraged to learn each other’s names and introduce themselves to newcomers, and failure to do so may even result in burpee penalties. The gym also participates in numerous competitions and events that support charities and cancer research.

She'll even visit clients' home to make over pantries, uproot backyard doughnut bushes, and teach one-on-one cooking lessons. Her detoxification programs outfit kitchens with healthy foods, shakes, and supplements.
Though cosmetic and reconstructive surgeon Jeffry B. Schafer has been performing surgical procedures since 1978, over the past 15 years his attention has turned to developing and performing the latest noninvasive and laser-based body-contouring techniques. His SomaSculpt office is a Center of Excellence for both Cynosure and Palomar laser systems, and the staff has mentored more than 100 physicians and 20 nurses in laser lipolysis.
Dr. Schafer also created a superficial skin-tightening method, and he was one of the earliest US physicians to use the Body-Jet liposuction system. He even appeared on an episode of The Doctors to demonstrate its transformative effects and see a real, live applause sign in person.
Dr. Ronnie N. Dawood and his staff at Sublime Medical Aesthetics & Dermatology treat patients with the care that comes from believing that "cosmetic surgery is never routine." Though treatments may have been performed hundreds of times, the licensed surgeon and physician takes nothing for granted—making sure to carefully look at each patient's medical history, current health, and reasons for seeking treatment before agreeing to perform procedures. The staffers pride themselves on staying current on the latest, safest practices, which they use to enhance façades through nonsurgical or minor surgical procedures, including laser vein therapy, liposuction, and Botox injections.
Biorient Integrative Clinic owner Dr. Katalin Csoka combines the best of Eastern- and Western-medical perspectives. After studying conventional Western medicine in her native Hungary, establishing a family practice, and working as a licensed pulmonologist, Dr. Csoka packed up her belongings and rode a dala horse to Scandinavia. She earned a PhD in clinical pharmacology in Sweden, and her extensive cancer research has appeared in numerous articles that have been published in professional journals. Dr. Csoka is also a licensed acupuncturist, and has undergone advanced training in traditional Chinese medicine in California.
Dr. Csoka believes that illness and disease stem from distortions in the body's energy network or organ function. As such, she uses natural methods that incorporate physical and mind-body healing. Within her private, welcoming office—which is affiliated with Mission Hospital—Dr. Csoka performs auricular and esoteric acupuncture, as well as cupping and Japanese shiatsu acupressure treatments. She interprets the results of micronutrient and food-sensitivity testing, and recommends herbal formulas to supplement nutritional intake or enhance the ability to find four-leaf clovers. Practicing what she preaches, Dr. Csoka herself has not taken any pharmaceuticals in more than eight years.
