At Family Back & Neck Care Centre, chiropractors Dr. Charles A. Maurer, Dr. Jeffrey D. Steinle, Dr. Christopher L. Nelson, and Dr. Emily R. Wentworth alleviate alignment-related conditions that range from carpal tunnel syndrome to chronic lower-back pain. On the first visit, the doctors assess each patient to make sure chiropractic care would be an effective course of treatment—if not, they happily refer clients to another practitioner. After conducting a battery of diagnostic tests that may include taking x-rays and testing reflexes, chiropractors analyze the results to tailor a treatment plan for each patient. They also regularly attend conferences and seminars to stay current with the latest treatment methods. In addition to realigning the body, Family Back & Neck Care Centre’s practitioners offer ChiroTHIN, a supervised weight-loss program that blends a low-calorie diet, behavior modification, and physician support in the form of hourly thumbs-ups.
Dr. Gary Meek joins a team of physicians and a trained staff at Meek Chiropractic to analyze and realign vertebrae of all shapes and sizes. Meek brings an expertise in pregnancy needs, care for athletes, and pediatrics to the table, helping the group bolster the extensive experience that includes treating minor leaguers from the Springfield Cardinals baseball team and athletes from various colleges.
With that experience, they've built up a wide range of treatment plans and methodologies to help realign patients. Depending on your needs, they can administer acupuncture treatments, perform nutritional counseling, and give instruction in corrective exercises, which reinforce the effects of chiropractic care and train you not to sleep on park benches. Their 10,000-square-foot facility is equipped with private exam rooms and a children’s playroom.
Dr. Brian McDonnell doesn't settle for treating symptoms alone. Instead, he offers complementary alternative care that alleviates pain and discomfort while promoting the body's own natural healing capabilities. His targeted adjustments encourage healthy neurological function, and his acupuncture treatments restore holistic balance among the body's various systems. You won't find him in the office for a brief period on Monday afternoons, though; that's when Dr. McDonnell briefly steps away from his practice to share chiropractic advice on KWTO AM 560's Ask the Professionals. He then returns from 3:30 to 6pm.
As a running buff, Doctor of Chiropractic Marshall Reed understands the toll sports can take on muscles, tendons, and ligaments. So he focuses on caring for these soft tissues, in addition to maintaining the alignment of the spine, in his practice at Ultimate Health and Rehab. Dr. Reed keeps sprinters at the starting block and marathoners running through the streets of Athens with traditional spinal adjustments, the Graston Technique, the Active Release Technique, and kinesio taping. He also treats everyday ailments such as headaches, neuropathy, and plantar fasciitis.
