What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition?
As an acting coach, my approach is teaching my students the art of ‘being human’. I encourage them to observe human behavior, mannerisms and relationships. This helps me to guide my actors to achieving a naturalistic style of acting.
Do you provide any materials? What should your students expect to bring?
I provide sides and commercial copy. I also have a professional video camera, teleprompter and cue cards to utilize in class. Students need to bring only a pen and paper to write down notes in every class.
What was the inspiration to start or run this business?
I studied at New York University in the School of Educational Theatre, as well as the Tisch School for the Performing Arts. As an educator of the arts, I developed a passion to help aspiring actors achieve success in the acting industry.
What do you love most about your job?
It's an opportunity to teach an art form that I love. Teaching offers me a chance to share my 'on-set' experiences with all of my actors. Guiding my actors to reach their goals in acting is a passion. I love cultivating raw talent and being part of the creative process.
“This talented company is a gem in New Jersey," declared Broadway World's Marina Kennedy. It would seem the residents of the Garden State agree—American Repertory Ballet was crowned Favorite Dance Company three separate times by the Jersey Arts People's Choice Awards. Its journey to this distinction began in 1963 when Audrée Estey, the founder of Princeton Ballet School, created Princeton Regional Ballet Company as the professional arm of the institution. By the time its name changed to the current incarnation, the Ballet had already been showcasing an array of both classic and contemporary masterpieces by Alvin Ailey, Twyla Tharp, and Dominique Dumais. It's continued to celebrate the art of the dance and test tippytoes to their limit via original productions, tours to Portugal, and traditions such as its annual staging of The Nutcracker, an ARB fixture since 1964.

As memory cards replaced film reels, many photographers—both professional and amateur—felt befuddled by the new technology. That's where Digital Photo Academy stepped in. Since 2007, the business has facilitated workshops that explore all aspects of digital imagery, from operating cameras and uploading digital files to editing images and airbrushing realistic mustaches. Seasoned professionals lead the courses, helping understudies hone their use of light, framing, and timing. Students furnish their own cameras, and can tote along any ancillary equipment such as tripods, laptops, and flashes that relate to the course at hand.
