  • Sleepy's
Sleepy's is the American dream. It all started when Louis Acker landed on Ellis Island in the late 1920s. In 1931, he opened a mattress store in Brooklyn, where he and his son, Harry, tied knots and stitched mattresses by hand. After Louis passed away, Harry carried on the family business, eventually transforming it into Sleepy's, whose first store opened in 1957. There, he built the company's foundation upon quality products and an expert staff of Mattress Professionals. Today, those Mattress Professionals share their wisdom at more than 1,000 showrooms across the United States, helping people figure out which sleep system is best for their body and wallet. The modern-day version of Sleepy's has grown into customers' source for the industry's top brands, including Simmons, Serta, Sealy, and Tempur-Pedic. Sleepy's also carries a wide range of other specialty sleep products, from pillows and mattress pads to sheets, blankets, and headboards.

  • Siegel's Cottonwood Farm
Stalks of corn sway in the breeze and bales of hay crisp up in the afternoon sun at Siegel's Cottonwood Farm. Every year, this farm celebrates autumn with a massive cornfield maze that's always cut into a creative new design. This year, families will be navigating stalks patterned like Wrigley Fields 100th Anniversary while smaller explorers tackle the two-acre Spookley "Anti-Bullying" corn maze. After escaping the mazes, visitors can take a hayride to the U-pick pumpkin field, where bright orange pumpkins grow on twisting vines. Throughout the farm, children play on the giant slide and climbing wall, pigs and goats highlight their favorite passages of Animal Farm in the petting zoo, and a massive troll named Bobo emerges from a castle to tell the story of Jack and the Sleeping Giant. For a spookier experience, the paintball ride takes intrepid passengers on a half-mile trip in an Army troop-carrier truck equipped with paintball guns. Along the way, zombies pursue the truck and riders must shoot them with paintballs to avoid being gobbled up. Additional attractions include three play areas and Lexi?s Jumpin? Blob Jamboree.

  • The Find Market Event
Established: 2013 Handicap Accessible: Yes Staff Size: 2?10 people Parking: Parking lot Reservations/Appointments: Optional Most popular offering: New goods every month Pro Tip: Our staff of designers can help you create the vision you have for a repurposed/recycled item Good for Kids: No Walk-ins Welcome: Yes Q&A with the Owner What sets your business apart from your competition? A cross between an antique market and a vintage bazaar, the find market event offers multiple vendors in a cool new setting of vignettes for goods versus the old standard of static vendor booths. When a customer sees the potential of what a piece can be versus [seeing that piece] sitting on a shelf, they can envision it in their home easier. All 7,000 square feet of indoor showroom is recreated every month with different aisles, walls, rooms and settings for our customers to wander through, displaying all of the new wares the vendors have brought for their perusal. What was the inspiration for starting this business? All of the vendors here at the find market event have experienced a static show, where the customers see their booth and think "Oh, I have seen them before, I don't need to look again." Changing the aisles, walls, rooms and vignettes every single month, allows us to present brand new looks for the customers to enjoy. Always new, always fresh Is there anything else you want to add that we didn't cover? We strongly suggest that what ever direction a customer takes upon entering the find market event, that they turn around and go backwards for a second pass thru our market. There is so much to see, often they miss a whole lot, so a second trip really helps them see everything differently. What is the best reaction you?ve ever gotten from a customer? "Can I just move in here?" one customer asked. What?s your favorite part about your job? Hands down, watching someone discover a cool find for themselves. Doesn't matter who it is or what it is, it's the look and smile on their face that makes you think of a small child discovering their favorite toy.
