  • Crossfit Epiphany
Equipment: Crossfit uses minimal equipment compared to a traditional big box gym. The equipment we use comes from many different styles of exercise. We will be using use weight bars, weights, kettlebells, boxes, and other top of the line functional equipment. We will show you how to use it all so there is no need to be intimidated by any new equipment. Athletes should bring: A water bottle, fitness attire (comfortable and flexible), a towel (if needed). Appointment required: For initial classes only (first 3 fundamental classes) Good for beginners: Yes Average class length: 60 min Number of staff: 1-2 during class, 5 total different coaches Class location: Mix of indoor and outdoor of our gym Established: 2010 Parking: parking lot in front. Pro tip: Let your coaches know of any injuries and concerns before you get started. Also let them know how you are feeling afterwards. Q&A With Crossfit Epiphany How do you keep clients motivated to reach fitness goals: In order to keep our athletes motivated we rely on 3 things. Results, the community, and our atmosphere. We program our workouts to help you reach your fitness goals quickly and have a good time in the process. When you start to see those changes you’ve been wanting you will keep you coming back for more. Our community in the gym also helps motivate our athletes during each workout. As you get to know people that are on the same journey as you, you begin to want to work alongside them as you sweat together. Hard work is easier when done with friends. And finally we created the proper environment for workouts. We have everything you need including nutrition support and workout tracking. Crossfit is simple, why not do it on my own? Well aside from being able to come in to our facility, look at the pre-programmed workout, get all the equipment you need, and do it alongside others that do it, we also provide personal instruction. One of the great things about Crossfit is that many of the movements can be done almost anywhere. It’s ‘functional’ fitness! But getting the proper training to do those movements is important. Here at CFE we really focus on correct technique in order to provide a safe and effective workout system. Proper instruction on each movement and proper loading on a beginner, especially the weighted movements, can help prevent injury and when movements are done properly they can provide better results. Out philosophy is technique first, speed second. What can a member expect the first time? When you come in to CFE for the first time there is no need to be nervous. We provide you with all the information you will need to get started. There will be plenty of time to ask any questions you might have. We walk you through the entire process of what to expect on a day to day basis as a Crossfit athlete. We will go over what Crossfit is, how classes work, and how to integrate into the gym. We will go over a warm up and then break down our basic fundamental movements done in the gym. We also put you through a short evaluation workout using those movements in order to gauge your fitness level. This allows us to integrate you into the programming properly. Then we go over a short stretching session and send you on your way.

  • Alive MMA
When Bill Bradley began teaching martial arts in 1989, the term "MMA" hadn't even entered the lexicon. But whatever he might have called the high-energy blend of striking and grappling, he excelled at it. Today, Bradley shares his expertise at Alive MMA as both owner and instructor. The facility aims to provide the ideal workout space for martial arts practitioners, combining 3,000 square feet of mat space with an MMA cage, a regulation-sized boxing ring, and 10 heavy bags. Next door, a complete CrossFit gym features practical equipment for ever-changing workouts. But the focus on fitness doesn't exclude comfort—Alive MMA also houses a sauna and therapeutic massage room for post-exercise relaxation and pre-exercise pep talks.

He and his trainers whip clients of all fitness levels into shape with the CrossFit method, a comprehensive fitness program that draws techniques from gymnastics, weightlifting, and running. Blending the 10 basic elements of fitness—which include agility, flexibility, power, coordination, and endurance—they lead always-changing functional workout regimens that prevent their clients from becoming bored and eventually giving up. Completing the functional training drills, patrons might swing kettlebells, lift barbells, jump rope, or hurl medicine balls, which can cure the common cold when swallowed. They customize the intensity of each workout to suit the fitness levels of seasoned athletes, children, and seniors alike.

  • VC CrossFit
Gymnastics. Weightlifting. Metabolic conditioning. These are the fundamental movement categories folded into each CrossFit workout, though together they create a workout that’s not as daunting as it may seem. Gymnastics and moves such as pushups, air squats, and ring dips help students assert control over their bodies, and dead lifts and weighted squats help them to become more powerful. Completing the regimen’s circle, metabolic conditioning hones cardiovascular systems through running, rowing, or jumping. At VC CrossFit, instructors lead workouts six days a week wherein students practice all these disciplines at a high intensity. Workouts change constantly so students can avoid plateaus that often come with the likes of traditional gym workouts or keeping pace with a stampede of third graders. Open-gym sessions are also available on Sundays, giving members open access to the facilities in a less structured environment.

  • CrossFit Magnus
In their 2,500-square-foot training facility, the coaches of CrossFit Magnus guide members to total fitness—a state encompassing physical, mental, and spiritual strength. Trainers use CrossFit, a system of functional movement performed at high intensity. It requires focus, dedication, and teamwork. In motivating, ever-changing workouts, participants may have to lift barbells and pull sleds one day, and climb ropes or jump on and off plyometric boxes the next. All exercises rely on functional movements such as pushing, running, and lifting, thus prepping members for a wide variety of physical activities and the obstacle course that concludes every tax audit. In addition to group classes, CrossFit Magnus also provides personal coaching.
