About Eyelash Parlor Lavilash

Eyelash Parlor Lavilash’s owner, Kiki, found inspiration for the business in her own beauty routine, which she squeezed in between triathlons and martial-arts classes. That was in 2005, and Kiki had already accrued more than six years of experience performing eyelash perms and teaching the technique throughout southeast Asia. Her business plan quickly came into focus. She opened a studio devoted to infusing eyelashes with a curl that lasts four–six weeks through weather and hard wear, dispatching with the need for daily mascara application and damaging mechanical curling or extensions.

The procedure is surprisingly similar to a salon visit. After the mild perm cream coats eyelashes, a silicone roller—chosen from a collection of 42 options—shapes the eyelashes into arcs ranging from demure to diva, and a complimentary collagen treatment conditions each tendril to a high gloss. Kiki works with a team of technicians to safely create new looks and correct unsuccessful perms perpetrated by other salons. She also teaches the method to professional aestheticians and lay folk hoping to streamline their own makeup routine.

This review is a few months late, but I was really pleased and satisfied with how my lashes looked after going to Gigi. The place itself is sectioned off in a salon that is right by the 33rd street station and is extremely convenient for a commuter. It does feel a little strange just sitting there with your eyes closed the entire time, about 45minutes. The solutions do have a strong smell and stings a bit but it goes away by the time you leave. The result is worth the slight discomfort! Gigi very nice, makes sure she gives you the look you want, and is accomodating with scheduling. This was my second time with her, and the perm lasted about 5weeks for me. I'm glad I got the package of 3.

I had a terrible allergic reaction to the the chemicals 24 hours later and had to go to the Emergency Room. My Eyes are swollen shut, deformed looking and it was frightening. Had I done my research I would have realized that a patch test is necessary. The conditions were unsanitary and furthermore, the eyelashes that she permed came out frizzy and not uniform. She was working out of a curtained section of a barbershop/threading place, there is no way she would ever charge $70 dollars for this full price, so even the groupon rate of $20 is a joke. This has been a TERRIBLE experience. I thought that GROUPON did a better job of selecting the merchants and services they offered.

The phone number was out of service. They moved and left no forwarding address. Was able to find when building. Doorman gave me a general idea where they were located. They share space with 2 other businesses, no air conditioning at all and very cramped. I did like the work done, but it was too much work to locate the place. Not worth all the hassle. If they can be more professional I would use them again. Wish I had, had a better experience.
