Emerald City Smoothie, Monterey

I had a smoothie from a large choice of menu items. My smoothie was loaded with protein, I added an energy boost and it was yummy. I walk the bike trail and am looking forward to stopping in again. The service was excellent; informative and friendly. Thanks for the great first experience.

It was too sweet, unnatural tasting and did not stay cold enough.

Groupon use was awkward - cashier had to text owner with my groupon number to make sure it hadn't been used before, then wait for response. Meanwhile, people were in line behind us so I felt rude for holding up the line. Might want to consider how to speed up this process. One of the restaurant I went to had me click "Use Groupon" then the servers write down the Groupon number, then the server watched me click "Mark Used" & then click "Yes" when it asks if you're sure. Then, it can't be used again. The cashier at Emerald City was very nice throughout the process, thanked me for my patience while he waited for a response, but I just felt bad because of the line forming - wasn't that long but seems like forever when you've got people staring at you (most people normally expect pretty quick service @ a smoothie place). Thanks.
