Well, we are sorely disappointed. We bought a groupon for a detailing on a newly purchased Ford Escape. The previous owners weren't very clean and my wife and I decided we'd rather pay to have it detailed than clean up after others. We clearly had a different idea of clean than the owners (brothers who are owner operators) do. We expected to receive the following (as outlined in the groupon deal): "Full interior and exterior detailing includes the following: vacuum interior seats, carpet, trucn and cargo area' custom clean and dress dash, vents instruments and trim. Hand wash and dry door jambs; clean and dress tires and rims; clean windows inside and out; clean and portect leather seats; clean and polish scratches, film and oxidation from headlights; degrease, steam clean and detail engine bay; and shampoo and deodorize carpet and upholstery with heated soil extractor". What we received was basically a very very poor vacuum job, they wiped down the dash, console and instruments with an armor all (or equivalent), sprayed some deodorizer and called it a day. I've received better vacuuming jobs from Wal-Mart when took my car in for an oil change in college. Here is a link to some pictures taken after the detailing. http://s1078.beta.photobucket.com/user/tyrellm/media/IMAG1020_zps0ec8b209.jpg.html?sort=3&o=0 I would have taken it back to have them do it right, except when they "steam cleaned" the engine, they likely power washed it and filled the ignition coil on Cylinder 4 with water and caused a miss-fire. At this point I was more concerned about getting the escape to a diagnostic computer to see what part they over saturated and get it fixed rather than make them re-vacuum. The coils run $75 (autozone, not a shop), this means I'm out the cost of the detail, to get a level of clean I would expect from a youth car wash fundraiser and the cost to replace my ignition coil. The owner was very personable. The best part of our experience was talking with him prior to the detailing, but his personality was dwarfed by the detail we received. I manage a restoration franchise, we clean people's homes after fires, floods, etc. Attention to detail is a must when you're removing soot from every nook and cranny of a 2000 square foot home. We do carpet, duct, and upholstery cleaning as part of our cleaning service. I know what the floorboards, seat back (in cargo area) and other upholstered surfaces should look like when they've been cleaned; even if there were any stains that were unable to be removed, they should have been free of loose debris, hair, etc. This is the type of work I would expect to see from a disgruntled employee, not from the owners of the business.
