The ABQ Experiential Holistic Health Fair takes place on Saturday, August 3, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Convivium Coworking. The fair will have seminars that address particular medical conditions, including cancer, diabetes, and heart disease. Speakers include Jenna Proctor, nutritional consultant and founder of From the Daughter's Kitchen, who will demonstrate ways to cut sugar from diets with natural sweeteners. Energy healer Stefanie Whaley will also speak, discussing spiritual and energetic techniques for handling emotional stress and physical pain. Other topics will include yoga, relationship coaching, and massage therapy. In keeping spirit with the event's inspiration, a portion of the profits will benefit People Living Through Cancer, an organization that provides care and support for survivors and those diagnosed with the disease.
ABQ Experiential Holistic Health Fair
By 2003, Leslie Martin had lost both of her parents to cancer. Her mother had once expressed regret in not investigating alternative-medicine treatments, which inspired Leslie to make a commitment to a healthier lifestyle. She enrolled at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, where she trained under renowned health and wellness experts such as Dr. Deepak Chopra. She is now a certified holistic-health coach, and in her mother's honor, she hosts the ABQ Experiential Holistic Health Fair, at which attendees will be able to explore diverse approaches to alternative wellness and medicine.
