Bagel Jay's Bakery and Cafe

Like Prometheus stealing fire from the gods to give it to humankind, the founders of Bagel Jay's Bakery and Cafe brought bagels to western New York in 1976. Since then, owner Bagel Jay has been crafting circular standbys with a menu of freshly baked bagels paired with savory deli meats. Diners dress their hearth-baked bagel with cream-cheese shmears of scallions, vegetable, and cinnamon honey, or construct sandwiches of sliced roasted turkey, hot corned beef, or ham. A steaming cup of Jakee's Java and a breakfast bagel with bacon and cheese help jump-start the morning, and classic tuna salad fortifies muscles after a long day of playing Jenga with railroad ties.

The Groupon Guide to: Tricking Your Kids into Eating Vegetables

Kids don't want to eat vegetables because vegetables aren't fun. Make legumes laughably fun with these tips for preparing vegetables:

  • Put black beans on circular slices of potato to give your kids healthier "chocolate-chip cookies."

  • Cut corn off the cob and offer their picky palates some "rotten goblin teeth."

  • Mash yams and your young ones will be thrilled to eat "a very sick man's innards."

  • An avocado kind of looks like a hand grenade.

  • Remove the strings from celery. Kids will voluntarily eat celery if it's not strung like some kind of ridiculous violin.

Mom, can I have seconds of goblin teeth?
