Like spritzing an email with cologne, blowing kisses at a movie screen is a heartfelt romantic gesture that proves fruitless in attracting movie stars. Experience unrequited love with today's Groupon: for $6, you get a triple-feature movie night for two at Brew & View at the Vic Theatre in Lakeview (a $17 total value). The movie night includes:

  • Two admissions (a $5 value each)
  • Two medium popcorns (a $3.50 value each)

The Brew & View transforms the historic, 1,000-seat Vic Theatre from a live-music venue to a site of cinematic revelry, where patrons 18 and older can enjoy three movies in a row with dinner and drinks. Check the schedule and choose from a selection of favorite second- or third-run movies, cult classics, and underground favorites, or bribe the projectionist into screening your sequel to Citizen Kane. During the films, mixologists shake and stir drink specials for patrons 21 and older from behind the Theatre’s three bars. The Vic forbids outside food and beverages, but hungry moviegoers can order in from featured local restaurants and have their food delivered right to the theater. Brew & View generally shows films at 6:30 p.m., 8:30 p.m., and 10:30 p.m. Monday–Saturday, and at 5 p.m., 7 p.m., and 9 p.m. on Sunday, but check the schedule or this morning’s I Ching reading for details.

Brew & View

The cinematic alter ego of the Vic Theater, Brew & View splashes retinas with second-run and cult-favorite films in a historic 1912 vaudeville house outfitted with three full bars. Weekly schedules flaunt a mix-and-match of cinematic adventures, drawing viewers in with high-speed action scenes, star-crossed romances, and historical intrigues concerning off-brand wig-powder usage. All three bars serve cocktails and microbrews until the end of each triple feature, which often leads to viewers reciting the dialogue and responding to the movie out loud—a character trait the theater is proud of. They also welcome guests to order food from nearby restaurants and have it delivered directly to the venue.:m]]

The Groupon Guide to: Steadying Your Nerves

A number of things could be responsible for butterflies in your stomach—public speaking, prepping for your upcoming marriage exam, or swallowing a colony of butterfly larvae. Identify the source of your wracked nerves and then consult this handy guide for the appropriate coping mechanism:

  • When giving a presentation to a large crowd: Imagine the audience is naked.
  • When taking an exam: Imagine the exam proctor is nakedly transparent about wanting you to ace the test.
  • When at a job interview: Imagine the person conducting the interview is naked, and that all of the questions are pertaining to the whereabouts of their clothes. Hint: they are hidden in your new corner office!
  • When nervous about your thirst: Knock back a cool, refreshing Naked® 100% fruit smoothie.
  • When asking someone out on a date: Under no circumstances imagine them naked, then or ever.

Why do audiences at important speeches always show up naked?
