The carving station’s turkey and honey-glazed ham complements made-to-order omelets, cheese blintzes, and chocolate-bacon potato chips with huckleberry sauce. A separate station will be set up to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Idaho Preferred Cookbook, featuring a live demonstration of treasured recipes. Bottomless mimosas cost an additional $10. The Boise Hotel & Conference Center

The Boise Hotel & Conference Center is a self-sufficient complex. Visitors need not leave the premises to attend conferences in the 12,000 square feet of meeting space, cut into juicy steaks at the onsite Castle Ranch Steakhouse, or brew coffee in the hotel’s 195 coffee makers—one per guest room. The Sports Page Bar pairs ice-cold beers with televised games, and the recreation area’s video games, pool table, and swimming pool foster indoor fun during chilly winters or dark days when the sun calls in sick.

However, visitors who choose to leave the premises need not wander far in search of entertainment. For skiers, the Bogus Basin Mountain Recreation Area, which receives 200–250 inches of snowfall per year, is just 5 miles away; 3 miles away, tourists can shop downtown Boise’s shops, which range from classic Old Boise storefronts to the more modern Linen District. Nestled near the airport, the hotel also provides free airport shuttles, facilitating arrivals and departures more speedily than a miles-long moving walkway.

What some people are buzzing about:
