Bodies of water are frequent metaphors in poetry due to their unfathomable depths, unknowable sprawl, and unattainable porpoises. Submerge into the enigma with today's Groupon.

Choose from Three Options

  • $29 for a 45-minute tour aboard the SS Nautilus for two (up to a $68 value)
  • $55 for the above tour for four (up to a $136 value)
  • $75 for the above tour for six (up to a $204 value)

A replica of a US-military nuclear-operated semisubmersible, the SS Nautilus emulates the experience of diving below sea level with sound effects and bubbles outside the window. Throughout the tour, guests of all ages can wave at wild fish swimming about the hull and even feed them by pressing a button as if launching a torpedo.

Children aged 2 and younger may ride the Nautilus for free.

Catalina Adventure Tours

Catalina Adventure Tours’ aquatic guides unlock the secrets of island living during submarine and glass-bottom-boat tours or interior land excursions. Safely submersed below sea level aboard the military replica SS Nautilus, groups of up to 45 search the waters for rapidly growing ladder kelp, boisterous fish, and reflections they think are sea spirits, and those riding in glass-bottom boats start feeding frenzies among hungry schools gliding below. Alternatively, guests can spy bald eagles and buffalo during an Inside Adventure tour or gaze over cacti speckling the foreground of sweeping ocean views from the Wrigley Memorial & Botanical Gardens on the City Botanical Garden tour. Catalina Adventure Tours also runs evening missions with guides serving as curators of ocean nightlife and designated drivers for seahorse discotheques.

Groupon Says

The Groupon Guide to: Wishes

Genies, like fathers, exist solely to give you everything you want. If you’re lucky enough to have a trapped benevolent soul in your life, here’s what you should ask for:

  • An end to all crimes, except the ones you commit

  • A car with a person in it, so you can always use the carpool lane or park in the loading zone of Staples if you're just going to be one second

  • The ability to look at someone and know exactly why they’re crying

  • A trip around the world to meet every dog

  • To find true love so that you can destroy it and then write a really touching book about the whole thing

  • Exactly one more wish

Are some people cheating their way into the carpool lane?
