A picture is worth a thousand words, which is why a portrait of Lewis and Clark will not suffice for a 5,000-word history thesis. Say what you want to say with this Groupon.

$49 for a Three-Hour Chicago Photography Safari ($99 Value)

Participants travel to Chicago landmarks around Millennium Park, Navy Pier, or Lincoln Park Zoo, where seasoned instructors teach them how to use all types of cameras. They cover techniques such as controlling F-stops, adjusting shutter speeds, and reducing bunny ears. Shutterbugs then explore their destination while snapping shots. Students receive real-time photography critiques and suggested adjustments for producing vivid prints.

You can choose from any of the day or night tours of Millennium Park, Navy Pier, or Lincoln Park Zoo. In December, photographers can also choose a holiday Zoo Lights safari at Lincoln Park Zoo.

The Groupon Guide to: DVD Commentary Reveals

DVD commentaries can be fonts of behind-the-scenes trivia about all your favorite flicks. What are some secrets we learned from watching the special features?

  • Only half the dinosaurs in Jurassic Park were real dinosaurs.
  • Robert De Niro is a joy to work with, really gets to know everyone on set.
  • The reason there are so many Batman movies is because the mask lets producers cast interchangeable nonunion stuntmen that are cheap and easy to knock around.
  • Marty Scorsese is a joy to work with, takes time to get to know people.
  • The special effects in Toy Story were done with computers.
  • Claymation skeletons are a joy to work with, spend a lot of time sword fighting folks during breaks.
  • Star Wars is based on a true trilogy.

What behind-the-scenes movie secrets did we learn from director’s commentaries?
