In a Nutshell

This winery sells only Kentucky-grown varietals, with grapes from the state’s Hickman Creek valley; chocolate-dipped bottles are a specialty

The Fine Print

  • Expires Apr 30, 2013
  • Limit 1 per person, may buy 2 additional as gifts. Valid only for option purchased. Valid only at selected location. Reservation recommended. Must use promotional value in 1 visit. Bottle of wine will be given to take-home and must be consumed off-site.
  • See the rules that apply to all deals.

True wine connoisseurs teach themselves to distinguish varietals, identify flawed bottles, and cry pure chardonnay. Become one with the grape with this Groupon.

Choose Between Two Options

  • $25 for two tapas (up to a $7 value each) and one chocolate-dipped bottle of wine (a $40 value) to take home (up to a $54 total value)
  • $45 for four tapas and two chocolate-dipped bottles of wine to take home (up to a $108 value)

These packages include one or two wine bottles hand-dipped in chocolate for at-home consumption. Because the bottle is wrapped in cellophane, the chocolate can be broken off the bottle with a simple pull of the tabs. The decadent gift playfully merges the classic pairing of wine and chocolate for a present that has been listed as a top-10 gift item in Wine Enthusiast and featured in various publications. Tasting notes and suggested food pairings also are included.

Each option also includes two or four tapas at the winery’s dining room. Choose from tomato-and-basil bruschetta, white-wine cheese, spinach-artichoke dip, and other small plates. Customers may also substitute the tapas for an antipasta platter (a $12 value); one platter for the two tapas option and two platters for the four tapas option.

Chrisman Mill Vineyards

At Chrisman Mill Vineyards, Kentucky is king. The winery uses 100% Kentucky-grown varietals such as Vidal Blanc, Chancellor, and Norton in each of its wines. The grapes come from the winery’s Nicholasville estate—tucked into the rolling hills of Hickman Creek valley—as well as 14 family farms spread across the state.

In Nicholasville, vintners carefully process, bottle, and sing each batch to sleep. They also produce two non-grape beverages—a sweet honey mead and a blackberry wine made with berries from the Pacific Northwest. Visitors can visit either the Nicholasville or Lexington tasting rooms to pair wine flights with a selection of tapas that includes tomato bruschetta, hummus, and homemade wine cheese.

The Groupon Guide to: Spicing Up a Monologue

Monologues are the most boring part of plays since they only involve a single performer and that single performer is never an adorable baby actor. To make these seemingly unending passages more interesting, follow these helpful tips:

  • Do something interesting with your voice. You could give your character an accent or, if you can't do a convincing accent, just yell the entire time.

  • Cut out all the unnecessary words, such as articles and any full sentences that don't foreshadow how the main character is a group of children hiding inside a man's suit.

  • Wear a funky hat or rad loafers. That'll give the audience something to look at!

  • Perform it with multiple people and tell the director you're going to start calling it a fun-o-logue.

  • Start at the end of the monologue and work backward. Then when you finish, tell the audience that they just got Pranked'd™. (If you're interested in buying the rights to use the name Pranked'd™, probably for a hilarious hidden-camera goof show, please contact Groupon for more information.)

Why is there so much yelling in plays? Find out in today's Groupon Guide.
