In a Nutshell

Merengue and Latin pop superstar returns to the venue where she recorded her Grammy-winning live album

The Fine Print

Without music, concerts wouldn't exist and “funk” would just be the smell emanating from an old sock filled with corn. Lend an ear with this GrouponLive deal to see Olga Tañón at House of Blues Orlando. For $28, you get general admission on Saturday, October 13, at 9:30 p.m. (up to a $57 value, including fees). Doors open at 8:30 p.m. Because the ticket is a G-Pass, Groupon customers can use it to enter the venue directly; they will not need to redeem their Groupon at will call.

Olga Tañón is no stranger to House of Blues Orlando. In 2000, the five-time Grammy winner nabbed her first golden gramophone for her live album Olga Viva, Viva Olga, which she recorded at the venue. That album in particular showcases the energetic blend of merengue and Latin pop that Tañón regularly dishes out with the fevered pitch of a track like "Muchacho Malo" or the sweeping, heartfelt sentiment of a song such as "Basta Ya." Although the native Puerto Rican musician first broke out as a merengue superstar in the early 1990s, she crossed over into mainstream Latin pop, reinventing herself along the way with the back-to-basics statement album Una Nueva Mujer. Throughout Tañón’s two-decade career as a recording artist, fans have shaken their hips to more than 20 of her albums, which the singer revisits in live concert performances as fiery and passionate as a furnace stoked with old high-school love letters.

Due to security restrictions, G-Passes must be printed out and presented in person at the event. They cannot be redeemed through Groupon's mobile app.

House of Blues Orlando

Perched in Downtown Disney West Side, House of Blues Orlando resembles something of a backwoods theme park itself. Giant signs herald the venue from atop an old water tower taken from Mickey Mouse’s ancestral estate, and between trees wrapped entirely in twinkling lights stands a sprawling, neon-lit wooden roadhouse whose stage and lantern-strung patio bustle with boisterous entertainments nearly every night. A box of Delta Mississippi mud beneath its stage links it to its sister locations across the country.

The Groupon Guide to: Finding a Thing of Money

Although everyone gets out of bed each day hoping that today will be the day they finally happen upon a life-altering thing of unclaimed money, finding a thing of money actually comes with intractable legal and ethical ramifications. What steps must you take before you have legal and moral right to a found thing of money?

• Alert the police that you have found a thing of money. Give them your phone number in the event that someone reports that exact size of a thing of money missing. Do not give them your name.

• Hang fliers around the area where you found the thing of money. Fliers about a free thing of money will likely attract ne'er-do-wells, so instead, have the fliers read: “Found: an item. Could be good, could be bad. Can you prove you lost something by guessing what I have found? We shall see.”

• At the end of 30 days, if you feel fairly confident you have done everything humanly possible to find the thing of money’s original owner, go to your nearest charity. Dump half of the money into the charity’s mail slot. The remainder of the money is yours to keep, you good-hearted citizen.
