Slippery When Wet: The Ultimate Bon Jovi Tribute and Hysteria: Def Leppard Tribute
Jason Morey might not be a household name, but everywhere he goes, strangers come up to him. They have one question: “Are you Jon Bon Jovi?” Reportedly, even comedian and renowned celebrity detector Dave Chappelle once invited Morey backstage because he confused him with the rock icon. When you’re consistently mistaken for one of People magazine’s Most Beautiful People in the World, and you can sing exactly like him, too, it’s only natural to do what Jason Morey did: start a Bon Jovi tribute band.
Since 2003, Slippery When Wet: The Ultimate Bon Jovi Tribute has been fulfilling the appetites of Bon Jovi fans across the Southeast with their meticulously faithful act. Using live arrangements cribbed from the last five real Bon Jovi tours, Morey and his band fill intimate clubs with enough energy to resound through a sprawling arena. Having mastered a hefty set list of Bon Jovi bonbons, the band inspires mass sing-alongs with megahits such as “Livin’ on a Prayer,” “Wanted Dead or Alive,” and “Blaze of Glory.” True-blue Bon Jovi fans applaud the band for digging into deeper cuts such as “Born to Be My Baby,” “Wild in the Streets,” and random dialogue from Moonlight and Valentino.
Joining Slippery When Wet are the five lads of Hysteria, who channel Sheffield's favorite purveyors of glam metal into a set list filled with Def Leppard standards. Named after the multi-platinum classic that produced anthems including Billboard darlings "Love Bites" and "Pour Some Sugar On Me", the group struts and snarls through the throaty verses and stomp-along choruses that enthralled a generation of MTV addicts.
The Dave Matthews Tribute Band
The name says it all. The Chattanooga six-piece of the Dave Matthews Tribute Band has just one mission, leaving no room for misinterpretation by eschewing standard tribute-band monikers such as Crash Into Us!. As one of the few nationally touring DMB cover acts, the group has shared the mellow but funky spirit of its namesake with college campuses across the country, approaching songs such as “Satellite” and “What Would You Say” with reverence. Although singer Ryan Clifford nails Dave Matthews’s creamy croon while his band falls into DMB’s signature grooves topped with volleys of horns and violins, the Dave Mathews Tribute Band doesn’t just Xerox the hits. What sets the musicians apart is their ability to jam, sending improvised flourishes spiraling out from fan favorites.

House of Blues Orlando
Perched in Downtown Disney West Side, House of Blues Orlando resembles something of a backwoods theme park itself. Giant signs herald the venue from atop an old water tower taken from Mickey Mouse’s ancestral estate, and between trees wrapped entirely in twinkling lights stands a sprawling, neon-lit wooden roadhouse whose stage and lantern-strung patio bustle with boisterous entertainments nearly every night. A box of Delta Mississippi mud beneath its stage links it to its sister locations across the country.
