A trained nurse or laser technician takes up to 20 minutes to traverse up to 10 sun spots per treatment with a laser light. Sun spots may appear darker immediately following the treatment but will gradually fade as the outer layer of skin sheds in the following 7–10 days. While one treatment may remove sun spots, up to three treatments may be necessary to remove heavily pigmented areas. Healing time varies according to the treatment location.
