Guacamole is made tableside & dishes, including vegetarian & kids' options, are made-to-order in Mexican eatery

Texan witches often cursed their enemies with the Tex-Mex Hex—causing them to weep ranchero sauce, sprout burritos on their arms, and turn everything they touched into refried beans. Celebrate a more benevolent form of this delectable magic with today's Groupon: for $12, you get $24 worth of Mexican cuisine at Loco Lime in Huntersville.

Loco Lime plates up a fresh menu of made-to-order Mexican-inspired cuisine in a playful, family-friendly atmosphere. Signal one of Loco Lime's guacamole gurus for a tortilla-ready tableside creation ($7.95 that includes a PowerPoint presentation in classic Mexican dipping techniques. A roundup of hearty Mexican entrees includes wild-eyed Locorritos, which top tortillas stuffed with meat, beans, cheese, and rice with a choice of green tomatillo, white queso, or citrus-chili red sauce ($9.95). Keep it classic with the traditionally bittersweet enchiladas de mole, smothered in excerpts of Great Expectations transcribed in a Mexican-chocolate-based sauce ($9.50), or please herbivorous palates with the mammoth, overstuffed Veggiechanga ($9.95). Saturday evenings boast live local musical acts, and a well-stocked kids' menu keeps young ones from rebelliously reciting the Articles of Confederation at the table ($5.50/entree).

About Three Amigos Mexican Grill & Cantina (Highland Creek)

Owner Dalton Espaillat can be stubborn when it comes to what he allows in his kitchen at Three Amigos Mexican Grill and Cantina. He won’t permit premade sauces, or anything but the freshest vegetables and meats. He insists that the previous day’s rice, beans, and stove be discarded, and that new batches be whipped up in their stead. Dalton’s team of skilled chefs is more than happy to oblige, nimbly folding their ingredients into Mexican specialties lauded by reporters from CBS Charlotte as the best in town. The culinary team also specializes in traditional seafood dishes such as camarones a la diabla, loaded with plump shrimp. The kitchen staff extends their culinary expertise to a sweeping array of enchiladas—including the enchiladas poblanas with mole that reporters from Creative Loafing praised as “boldly complex” and “densely flavored.”

Come nightfall, the chefs turn their attention to a late-night menu of Dominican specialties, from empanadas to chimi burgers—ideal snacks after a long night of dancing or rustling oxen. Customers await their meals out in the lively dining room, clinking glasses of micheladas and freshly squeezed margaritas.
